Now that I have made the Wonderful drive from California to Corning/Watkins Glen NY, I will now provide you some of the daily highlights from this GREAT event!
Thursday was my first full day here. The only job I had to do was make sure the two cars we had shipped out arrived and were unloaded and in good shape. The cars arrived at about 10:00 AM and were in perfect condition. I would recommend Select 1 as a GREAT Company to ship cars at a very good price. As there were no other formal events during the day I decided to do something I haven't done for a while...
I took a drive!
I drove about 355 miles to visit the formal site of a summer camp I attended each summer from 1964 until 1968. The camp was located on the largest man made lake in Pennsylvania. The lake is called Wallenpaupack and it is located just southeast of Scranton PA. The camp was closed and sold to a real estate developer in 1969. Amazingly some of the remnants of the camp were still there! What a treat and wonderful walk down memory lane.
Well enough of my personal issues back to NSXPO!
I arrived back at the hotel at about 7:30 PM and the registration for NSXPO was well underway (and closed at 8:00 PM) so I registered and got my "goodie bag" in the bag was some carwash and literature from ZYMOL, a small "squishy" NSX model from Vince's Auto Body, a NSXPO '04 baseball cap and fleece pullover, and t-shirts from Dali Racing and Mechanics Direct. I will also receive (via mail) a nice poster of a painting of NSXs driving on the track at Watkins Glen. We also were treated to a very nice presentation of appetizers sponsored by American Dream Salon.
I then went and ate nice dinner here at the hotel. After two glasses of wine I was ready to go straight to bed, so I did!
Today (Friday) was the first full day of events. The day started as all the other days have... I cleaned up my car. This time I had some help! Gill Leach (Coolnsx) was kind enough to make the job take 1/2 the time.
We then assembled most of the cars in the parking lot to set off on the scheduled "Poker Rally". This event took most all day and was a very well planned and BEAUTIFUL country drive with lunch in the middle. Lunch was at the Boat Yard Grill in Ithaca NY. The rally ended at the National Soaring Museum in Elmira. The Poker game was ultimately won by Ken Sax (NSXTACY). The prize was a Cold Air Intake system from Comptech. Congrats. Ken!
We then retuned to the hotel and guess what?
We cleaned the cars!
After that we had a great buffet dinner at the hotel sponsored by HondaAcuraWorld. After dinner we were entertained by a great band called "Nick and the Nice Guys" This was an 11 member band that played a nice selection of "Party" music and many people had a great time dancing.
That's about it. I will update you all tomorrow on the planned activities.
