There is now some speak about possibly creating an Ontario chapter of NSXCA's North East membership (I am a member of NSXCA myself).

I think it is an awesome idea. One of the things that has always irked me about NSXCA membership for us Canadians is that there is not the same level of membership value here compared to in the US. For example, service and part discounts; there dont seem to be any here that are affiliated with NSXCA membership.

I believe that if we put together something more formal for Canadians, and more specifically, in Ontario, that we can help drive NSXCA membership. Hopefully it will make more sense for many of us, who are very active NSX owners, to join NSXCA if we can do this.

I believe that it would be a mistake to create an organized group that does not take advantage of what NSXCA has to offer (including infrastructure), but why dont people post in this thread their interest in participating, as an organizer, in an Ontario NSX group. Perhaps if there is interest, we can make this a Canadian wide effort? My only concern is that we need each location to be active and the only location that, to me, would clearly be active, is Ontario, with most of the activity coming out of Toronto.

Those who wish to be involved in exploring the possibility of creating an Ontario NSX Club, which is probably associated with NSXCA but not necessarily so, please post in this thread. We will plan a get together in Toronto (or phone in) to discuss:

1) If this is viable;
2) If this group should be affiliated with NSXCA and how so;
3) How we can provide membership value to Can/Ontario members (or increase the value of NSXCA membership); and
4) What we want to do.

If there is anything else that should be discussed, please post that aswell.

I agree, I think we should keep it affiliated with NSXCA and take advantage of the many benefits from that relationship. Count me in as part of the organizing committee! If we do hold a meeting, my only request is that we do it after April so I can get all my tax crap out of the way :D

As already mentioned elsewhere, I think this is a great idea and would like to volunteer/be involved in whatever way I can. I'm in Ottawa but there's a few NSXs in these parts and it would be great to be able to pitch a club like this at them. I am also a Toronto native so coming home for a few events would definitely be in the cards too.

(btw is NSX.CA available?). :cool:

OK - so it appears that we have some interest in forming the group, but what I think we should do first is get a few (3 or 4) people who want to be involved to a greater extent, to explore our options.

Im in, as are Stu and Arshad.

We could use one more?

I think that this small group should:

1) have a general understanding about what others may want to get out of the NSXCA.ON;
2) Discuss which forms of group we could put together to accomplish that (ie with NSXCA as it is now? with NSXCA as an official Ontario chapter? Stand alone? etc...);
3) Communicate with NSXCA to determine how the options under #2 may work within NSXCA (I have the handbook and Ken has offered some guidance here too); and
4) determine which route, if any, we would like to take.

I am not suggesting that this group would be, by design or default, the leadership of NSXCA.ON (should there be one). I think that this group should only be to discuss options and find out which ones we want to and can achieve. I believe that too large a group makes that very difficult.

Thoughts anyone? Anyone else want to be in this group?

Do you guys want to have a larger group to discuss these things?

here are my thoughts: I think if there will ever be an Ontario club, you will need a small group to lead - and keep it small because the more people you have, the more arguments/disagreements you will have when it comes to issues - also whoever is going to be on the leadership team should have some time to spare to the club.

Bio,

Agreed on all points in your post. Keep the "founders group" small. There's not that many of us, so keeping it lean and mean will push things ahead nicely. I also think its a good idea to keep this group centred inToronto since thats where the highest concentration of owners are and will keep this focused. Regional chapters can be created as the need arise.

This is very cool!

Hey guys,
I'd be certainly willing to sit on the first conference call or meeting (even while my other business is pending).

I think we should determine what the scope of our chapter would be, and yes I know I'm getting a little ahead of things but if we keep it lean and mean with a specific focus like:

1. organizing 2 chapter drives per year
2. organizing one or two track days with a coordinated chapter rally.
3. aranging some chapter benefits, ie with some Acura dealers and maybe an Ontario comptech dealer.

Keeping it focused and "lean" will help ensure it's viability and relevance.

My 2 cents.

Stu - wanna be a Comptech dealer? :D

Get me the paperwork!:wink:

Also, what brand were those coilovers again?:wink:

I'd like to point out that this P-Car Primadonna has actually tracked his NSX - unlike many of the NSX owners that can be described with a word that also begins with a "P"!:wink:

Stu - what tires can I get through you and are they reasonable deals?

Not sure how much more mine have in them!

Rears are now pretty much a full slick. The longitudinal grooves will be gone soon. Probably two track days, which means theyre done next week.

I want something sticky but something that if it rains, Im still safer driving home than I am jumping out of a plane without a chute.

I like my R-Compound Pirellis, and they were good in the rain - if you didn't need to brake and steer at the same time (I have no ABS):wink: .

I can get them for sure, gimme an email with your sizes and I'll get you a price.
