NSXCA MidWest Regional Newsletter
March 10, 2025
Happy almost Spring, fellow NSXers!
My name is Robert Richardson. I am your new NSX Club of America Midwest representative. I wanted to send this email in order to introduce myself and to establish some goals for the coming year.
Many of you already know me as I have been in the NSX community for over nine years, whether on NSX Prime as neuronbob, or on the Facebook NSX groups.
I live in the Cleveland, Ohio area and I currently own two NSXs. I purchased my 1999 Kaiser Silver NSX in 2015. A few years later, I had a SOS twin turbo system installed on it and have had numerous other modifications to my taste and level of modern function. It is my “road trip warrior” as it has now been in 34 states and I have attended eight NSXPOs with it. Earlier this year, I purchased a 2020 Thermal Orange NSX. This one has all the titanium Pride exhaust modifications to make it nice and loud, and it’s lowered on Eibach springs. One of my first tasks as a new NSX owner was to join the NSXCA and I’ve been a member since.
With that introduction complete, on to business. First, many of you are aware that John Vasos passed away last month. He was a legend in the Midwest and national NSX communities. I, and the NSX Club of America collectively, offer our thoughts and condolences to John’s, family and friends.
I am thankful to Jake Cole for his previous service as Midwest representative, and I appreciate his help in preparing me for this role. I chose to run for the position because the NSX Club of America has been very good to me, and I wanted to return the favor in some way. I would like to do that in two ways.
First is regular communication. I would like to make this the first of my quarterly communications (at minimum) with the group. I need your help to make these communications a success. The Midwest region covers a very large area of the United States and Canada. I would like to announce events ahead of time, by separate email if necessary, and to have members submit reports of significant get-togethers in the region so that we can communicate with each other about what the region is doing. In the past, I have been generally unaware of events in the MidWest community outside of NSXPOs, and occasionally Artoomobilia in Indianapolis. More organized events I can submit to NSX Driver for reports as our magazine for NSX owners is always looking for material.
The second way I would like to give back is by assisting with organizing a general Midwest event, or other regional or local events. I have already been approached by two different groups about doing this, and I, myself, I am thinking about hosting a significant meetup in Cleveland. The goal would be something akin to the MidEast meet put on by John Komar and his crew every year.
My ultimate goal as your representative is to bring NSXPO back to the Midwest. The ideal would be to aim for 2026 or 2027. My idea is to being it back to Ohio, where it has been previously, and to use Mid-Ohio as the event track. I am already in process of creating an organizing committee.
All hailing frequencies are open. The most effective contact is via email at neuronbob@gmail.com. Keep my email address out of your spam folder, if at all possible. For those of you on NSX Prime, you can direct message me through my username neuronbob. You can direct message me on Instagram via my user name, neuronbob. For those of you on Facebook, You can direct message me through Messenger.
Let’s make 2025 a fun year for MidWest NSX owners, since the worst of the winter is now over and we are defrosting!
With warmest regards,
Robert
