The NSX Club of America held the 4th Annual Buckeye Rock-In this weekend (8/9-11) in Cleveland, OH. We had a final count of 11 NSX's and roughly 20 people. Many NSXprime members were there, including Hans, Juice, HCarWizKid, NO TKTS, Nicholas421, and Carguy!.
Highlights (with photos courtesy of Hans):
On Friday evening, we had a nice seafood dinner at Hornblower's, overlooking Burke Lakefront Airport (where they hold the Cleveland Grand Prix) and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
On Saturday morning, we met
and drove to Ohio's Amish country. We drove some incredibly twisting, winding, roller coaster roads. When in the Amish area, we slowed down (a little, anyway
) and passed numerous horse-drawn buggies and a barn-raising. We had lunch at the Inn at Honey Run before heading back to Cleveland.
We parked in front of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for all of two minutes, long enough to get yelled at by the security guard, who apparently does not enjoy rock music:
We moved next door to the Great Lakes Science Center for a more leisurely line-up:
We then drove to the home of Hans and Claudia for a cookout sponsored by the NSXCA.
We had such a great time that attendance was considerably lower for the Sunday festivities. We drove 130 miles along Lake Erie to Westfield, NY, where we had a big pancake breakfast, complete with BIG pancakes, at the Sugar Shack:
We then drove around the area, including a ferryboat ride, before heading home:
Thanks to everyone involved, especially to Hans for coordinating the entire event, to Hans and Claudia for hosting the cookout, and to our sponsors:
Sunnyside Honda - Jerry Meade
Dali Racing - Mark Johnson
Escort - Kevin Kipper
Comptech
Please support them as they support us.
I would also like to thank everyone who came. As usual, it was a great bunch of people, with funny stories and laughs and a the usual terrific time.
Plans are already underway for some new activities at next year's event!
Thanks to all,
nsxtasy
