Here are some pictures of my 91 red/black with the various OEM wheels.

When I purchased my NSX it had the 94+ OEM wheels. I recently purchased a full set of 2002+ wheels. I had to put the 5mm adapters up front. Thank you for the help Vega$ NSX!!!!! That was a lot of fun  Before I was able to put the 2002+ wheels on I had the goofy 91 OEM wheels.

I love the OEM look and I have always wanted to get the 2002+ wheels. With them installed now I have to say I am very happy with them!!

Enjoy the pictures and keep the 4x4 jokes to a minimum

I'm curious what evryone thinks about my lug nuts. Right now I only have the black version. Does it look tacky? Should I purchase some silver ones?

Oh yeah, my 91 OEM's are my backup wheels.

Looks great!!

Now that I've recovered and can look at them objectively they look fantastic; makes it worth all the effort. Though that was A LOT of effort for 5 measly millimeters!

I'm glad to see that you were able to get home to snap these pics. Good to know you made it back ok. I guess our torque-by-feel calibration wasn't so bad after all! Who needs a torque wrench anyway?

Congrats on the 02 wheels.

My opinion: I would swap the black lugs for chrome lugs. The center emblem is chrome, so either the lugs should match or the emblem should match (Maybe a black emblem with black lugs just to be different?)

I am in the process of putting 02 rims on my 1994. Did you throw spacers on the rear as well? It's kind of hard to tell from the angle of the pictures, but the rear wheel doesn't look as inset as the stock wheels usually do. Maybe it's because the 02 rims are an inch wider? Or maybe because it is at stock ride height?

Hello Frank,

We just put the front spacers on (5mm). The wheels 100% do not fit without them. Trust me we tried just to make sure. Another option is to install the 97+ brakes and then you do not need the spacers. I was worried about having an unbalanced look by not doing the rears at the same time but after talking with many prime members the consensus was only doing the front’s works fine for the OEM look. I think it looks great and does not look unbalanced. I have not read any threads for anyone who has gone 25mm or such with the 2002+ OEM's so if someone could chime in that would be helpful.

One big lesson from the install was to purchase an impact screwdriver!! I purchased one from Harbor Freight for $3.99 and without it I don't think we could have taken the rotor off. The quality was ok and we broke one the screw heads but we were able to devise a way to use another screw head and it worked. Watch out for you hand when swinging the hammer ;)

We were able to torque most of the bolts down with my torque wrench but a couple were impossible to do with the long torque wrench. A small torque wrench would have helped and is one more tool I will be purchasing.

Thanks again Vega$ NSX for your help.

You need an impact screwdriver to get the phillips head set screw out that holds the rotor to the hub (the lugs and wheels also hold the rotor to the hub, but the set screw keeps the assembly in place until the wheel is torqued down). That screw is usually rusted in place - sometimes you have to drill it out just to get it out.

There was a thread a few months back posted by someone who used the H&R 25mm bolt-on spacers all the way around to mount 2002 wheels to an early NSX. In my opinion, the 25mm spacers look OK for the 1994-2001 stock rims. For the 2002 rims however, in the pictures I have seen, they seem to push the rims out a little too far. I think it's because the face of the 2002 rims is flatter and not as convex as the older wheels. Also the 2002 rims are an inch wider in back.

Ideally, 15mm bolt on spacers would be the perfect solution, but I am still searching for these. I saw a thread a while back where someone had actually posted pictures of a 15mm bolt on rear spacer. I believe it was PRIME member "apapada" that had them. But didn't have a source for them.

One other question: did the steering feel change after you mounted the 2002 wheels with the 5mm spacer up front? The non-power steering is already pretty heavy at parking speeds even with the stock 1994 wheels.

Thanks for the correction. I always thought it was RP01.

Yeah, I couldn't imagine this project even being remotely possible without that thing. The funniest thing was the make-shift screw head we made using about 4 socket adapters. HA! The other funny thing was when we first were trying to figure out how to use the impact screwdriver and we were just tapping it. Little did we know that you really need to wail on that sucker like you're trying to kill it. By the end, the impact end of the screwdriver was totally smashed in like we were hammering out platemail armor.

Hey Jin1976, do you have a set too?

Nope. Wish I had one. But the 7 spokes can also be made to Type-R by painting it white. Any new pics of your NSX and the civic?

Yeah, few new pics but nothing interesting. I've got a bunch of others but way to big to upload here...I'll get my brother to fix them before I post them.

Me too.

Me three. If that photo is correct the front definitely needs lowering, otherwise people will think Acura has released an NSX-cayanne. Opps, that was a 4x4 joke... sorry. :D

Fasinating thread looking at all three OEM's. The 02's on the red/black look a lot better than I imagined... in my mind i thought they wouldn't go well. Do you have any other photos of the 02 rims?

The seemingly increased ride height is from a different camera angle coupled with the smaller sidewall tire. As long as the overall tire diameter is the same, ride height does not change.
