My wheel wheels sitting on Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 Rubber. The tires are pretty darn quiet.

One more pic.

Wheels are 18x8 and 19x9.5 IForged (www.iforged.com) - thanks Vince! I have Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks.

Oh yeah, it's a special bright silver finish - I forget the details but it's basically polished and then covered with a silver clear coat (I think). It's more expensive of course because you pay for the polish and the special coat but I like it a lot better than the straight polish look - especially in sunlight. The lip is polished.

JChoice,

It is a very nice setup! I really like those wheels. I hope that I can see them soon. I guess I missed the chance to test drive your car with short gear and R&P before you installed these wheels. Oh well!

Very Nice!!!
How much do they weigh? How long was the wait for them?

I really like those.

The weight is listed on the iforged.com web site - it's very light given the wheel's size.

I think the wait was 5 weeks or so.

Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 Review:

I've only driven about 300 miles on these tires.

275/30 19
225/35 18

My first impressions: These tires make my NSX feel much more like a luxury car. They are quiet and remarkably smooth considering that I'm running 30 and 35 profile tires in the front and rear!

I enjoy driving the car more now that it's more quiet. I did buy these tires knowing that they generated a low amount of road noise. I didn't know that I would enjoy the lower noise level so much.

The grip seems fantastic but I haven't had a chance to really push it too hard. Of course, I now have a much wider set of tires.

The wet handling is supposed to be amazing with these tires.

One major draw back however and something others complain about on tirerack.com - these tires kill the razor sharp turn in I had with my stock Yokohamas. I may try playing with the toe to get some of it back. I know the last alignment shop didn't set the toe up properly. The steering feels very unresponsive compared to the stock point-and-go feel. It's very noticable.

Still, I can't say enough about how quiet the car is now. I don't know if I can give that up. :(

I previous tires have been: Dunlop S9000's and Stock Yokos.

Your calipers look small... oh wait... those rims are HUGE!!!

That looks great -- it makes a real statement.

As much as i'd love to hear what you think about the wet handling, just be careful.... :(

So what do you like most about the new tires? :D

I am trying to decide on the Aero or the Flux. These look good.
A few questions for you. Any rubbing issues? Do they clear Brembos? What sizes are the lips? Do you have quarter views to show the depth of the lips? How did you decide on a 9.5in wheel vs a 10 incher in the rear? Is that true that a 10 inch might rub the Bilstein perch?
Thanks,
Steve

I more or less just followed IForged's recommendation on sizing. I told him that I may go with big brakes so he built a wheel with that in mind.

If I did it again, I would consider their seven spoke wheel - the 18/19's are big and the shorter spokes of the seven spokes offset some of the big wheel look (if that makes sense).

Also, the stocks are seven spoke. The pic on the IForged web site doesn't do the seven spoke any justice - it looks great in person.

I do get slight rubbing in the front during very hard cornering - though, I drove the car pretty hard today and didn't hear any rubbing (maybe I wore the tire down just a hair?).

Hi Justin,
I think your wheels look awesome. What sizes are the lips? 1.5 inches in front and 2.5 inches in the rear? Big wheels look is good. When you put the BBK on, they will look even better. I think you made the right choice.
Steve

BTW, I was checking Z's car back and forth with Justin's. Visually Justin's wheels look so much bigger than Z's. My SSR Integrals also give the same impression compared to my TE37. It is likely because the 5 spokes show more stuffs behind the wheel. So if one does not plan to do BBK, 6 spokes wheels will better hide the shortcoming of small rotors. I will probably get the Aeros since I most likely will do the BBK.

Now, I do not want to upset anyone who has 18/19 wheels (especially since I still have stock rims) but can you fit 19/20 rims on an NSX??

Yes, but in my humble opinion, 18/19's are the largest you should go. With a lowered NSX, I don't know, but yes on a OEM height NSX. Do a search, 19/20's should fit. Ofcourse, it's not very tasteful IMHO. Then, like nsxtasy would say, tires are harder to find, more expensive, and it's easier to damage the wheels due to thin side walls. :)

:( If you run 19's and 20's you will ruin the rims if you so much as run over a beer bottle cap! ie: no sidewall no tire.=bent rim...I am running 17/18 combo with a huge rear lip and I am happy. ;)

:) JChoice you did a fine job on your NSX. keep posting new pictures if you modify her further...Brent

I am still thinking which shock to buy.!!!~~~ bilstein or koni. did you already installed it? how do you feel about the difference between stock and your bilstein? i really don't like the too many bounce.

I heard, Koni have more bounce, is that correct?

thanks for your help
