NSX Weight for NASA TTC

I just looked to see where the NSX would fall in NASA's TT group. Looks like they give the NSX +14 points and put it in TTC with a listed weight of 3153. It appears they are using the weight from the later targa models and not the 91.

If you haven't looked at NASA's rules it is interesting to compare weights of some of the more current cars. It's also worth comparing what NASA thinks is equivelant in terms of performance to the NSX.

Anyone on here ever run in a NASA TT with their NSX?

Hi,

Yes, I ran 5 weekends or so of TTC in 2006 in my '98 T (zanardi suspension, toyo ra-1, 100lbs lighter, carbotech pads). I took several 1st places, occasionally beat the TTB best times, and held the TTC record for Thunderhill for most of the season. The NSX can be a great competitor in their rules, but there are also plenty of other fast cars in C and B. If you are serious about competing with your NA1, I would read closely the rules about "updating" (i.e. you are allowed swap parts to match newer NSX's without a points penalty) or, ideally, suggest to the TT director that NA1 and NA2 NSX's should be assessed differently.

Thanks for your input.

NASA lowered the weight for the early cars to 3047. The 14 plus base points still remain.
