Was it actually lower than the NSX? I love that car. I may buy one.

my NSX is about 35mm lowered with JIC Magic FLTA2 coilovers. It was teh first time I ever saw an Ford GT, can not say anything about it.

Unless the NSX drops 2 inches from stock, the Ford GT is lower in height, since it sits at 44.3 inches. It's looks about right in the photos.

I like it. Both are very sexy. Now if Ford would have just put a REAL engine in, it would have been a timeless classic (like the original).

"The powerplant is a mid-mounted supercharged 5.4 liter V8, producing 550 horsepower (410 kW) and 500 foot-pounds force (680 N·m) of torque. Top speed is 205 mph (330 km/h)."

You mean you would have wanted it to be 550 NA.......w/o SC....

hahaha I would trade my 3.0 for it...

I have gotten to ride in a few, including in Camilo Pardo's (the chief designer, I work with him.)
I see them quite often at work. I would say this is one of very few cars I would get rid of my NSX to own. Maybe thats easy to say since its worth at least 5 times what my 91 is. But its just an great looking car. Timeless look inside and out, awesome performance and a lot of tuning potential.
I would have to have the heritage color combo though.
I do have to say though, the NSX looks great next to it.

I have sat in the gt and the seating position coupled with the low roof/grenhouse and high front fender/hood line makes for a disconected feeling to the road ahead. The nsx designers really got the driver centric design down.Low bodywork high greenhouse, you can see the road ahead.

Its an off the shelf powerplant. Nothing specific for the car. Its the LOW point of the vehicle.

Doc now you are dissapointing me... here I thought I had my NSX replacement and you are killing it.

Lol ,the gt has tremendous presence on the road, and none doubt its performance(truck engine or not).I am spoiled by the nsx driving position.Next time you get a chance to sit in or drive one revive this thread and let us know how you felt in it.

Ford GT is a great car but I also agree with Doc. The seating position and view from inside out is better in every aspect from the NSX. The GT has more of a WOW factor that is for sure, its storage compartment was a joke though.

Maybe its source of origin is not special, but it does have dohc, V8, supercharged and a dry sump lubricating system. Also do not buy that 550hp rating for a second, this thing puts down over 500whp stock. Its true power rating is actually closer to 650hp and its 130+ mph trap speed in the 1/4 mile shows it.

Gorgeous car and it is a timeless beauty.

I have to agree with Doc as I noticed the exact same thing when I got the chance to drive one a couple of years ago. It was a blast driving it though, especially with all that torque compared to the NSX. It definitely had the "fun" factor, but I'm still not in love with the look of the car. Not to mention the one I drove had a faulty fuel gauge with just over 1,000 miles on it.

I always liked everything about the Ford GT design except for the front end. I'll take either.

Don't like the engine? My favorite quote from the Clarckson review, "140 miles per hour, shifting to fourth!" I wish my engine could do that!

Also from that review, "They wanted it it sound like a Honda NSX..."

They could have geared many to cars to do that. Now is it in the car's best powerband to do that? Maybe not, but that's nothing really that special, being able to redline at 140 mph in 3rd gear that is.
