Finally test drove a R34 GTR (John, post the video of me driving on the road here please). All I can say is that Vance really is a brother, thanks man, tears in my eyes. I really mean it.

This R34 is in perfect 10/10, bone stock like new condition for sale at $55k. If anyone is interested "ready to buy" please pm me for the seller's contact info. I am not joking. You can drive it home immediately, no need to go through the shipping and importing process.

That's a really good price. If I didn't already have one sitting in customs I'd be all over that. Can't tell for sure from the pics, but it doesn't look like a V-Spec.

Is this a Motorex car? If not, how is it getting in to the country?!

I don't pretend to know everything but I did follow the proceedings and am pretty involved in the Skyline world...

Motorex basically died in a fire.

The owner Hiro went through the process of crash testing the R33 and legalizing the car for US markets. He went ahead and brought in a lot of cars...including R32s and R34, which were not included in the tests but were brought in since they essentially are the same cars (engine, chassis and drivetrain from 32-34 are basically the same with refinements). MX was the exclusive importer and legalizer of GTRs and had a list of mods needed to make them comply. The mods were supposed to be carried out on all cars.

In the end, they were not, MX and owner got involved with other business ventures (Formula D campaign, C-west parts etc) meanwhile deposits were taken, cars brought in, owners waited and mods were not done. There was a class action lawsuit initiated, Hiro got involved with the wrong crowd, business dealings went sour and laws were broken and jailtime served.

All in all a clusterfvck.

I think I got most of it. I just feel bad for some friends who got caught up in all of it who didn't deserve to be affected.

Cheers
John

holy crap!

TRUE STORY:

Myself and a buddy of mine were in Woodfield area at 11pm on a weekday by a mini strip mall, no cars, nothing just chilling and in pulls what i THOUGHT was a 240sx with skyline tails...however it was an R32 from canada and the importer handed me a motorex business card and i tried the number and website and got nothing about a month later. He told me in canada they are quite numerous but not to well maintained sometimes. Also i had to go over how the Fairlady=Z just to make him up to snuff on american motor companies etc.

anyways love the R34....but NSX=sexier.

If you wanna see Canadian Skylines, point your browser to gtrcanada.com (shameless plug!).

I will if this thing ever clears customs! :frown: I paid for the damn thing in January.

my friend's friend had his R32 GTR crushed to a can, when he couldn't send back his car to Canada (where he bought it from)

What are the requirements to clear customs?

Yup. There's a chance mine will get crushed too. I don't know all the details on the customs requirements because I'm going through a third party. I had it imported in one piece so there's a lot more red tape and $$$ involved than if I had the car broken down. We'll see!

OMG, good luck!
