NSX-R under-cover hood idea for normal NSX ??

I read that the NSX-R has a cover (my description) that covers the underside of the car's nose whereas my NSX has an open space there.
Has anyone here ever made something similar and if so, what were the difference in driving/driving stability after that. Of course the NSX-R has front hood with a large vent whereas the standard NSX hasn't.

It's my understanding that someone who is already fast and wants to be faster (and does post on this list/forum) is developing one ...... at least that is what he told me a few weeks ago ....

I would be interested in the results. A cover would not be difficult to make (just a piece of aluminium plating) but I wonder how it would change the airflow under the car.
Since the standard NSX already has a very flat underside my guess is that Honda had a specific reason for not covering the space in the nose as well (airconditioning, radiator cooling, something like that).

Gee, I wonder who that is? <G>
Not me, BTW.

You can get the Taitec front underbody tray right now that covers the same space. The difference between it and the new NSX-R tray is that the NSX-R tray has small side sills to prevent air from escaping into the wheel wells.

The change in air flow will make a difference, and to compensate and keep the cooling system happy you should go for a vented hood too, like the NSX-R. Of course then you change the front down force at speed, so you may want and NSX-R spoiler... welcome to cascade effects :-)

I think the new NSX-R also covers the engine bay underside as well, although I can't remember where I saw a picture of that.

I believe it is just an underbody tray under the exhaust to smooth the air exiting the rear of the car, and does not go all the way back to the engine area. ICBW.
