Check it out.

The weather conditions were just awful. It would have been nice if they could have tested it when it was dry. It sounds like it would lap right up there with a lambo murciealago (sp?) if it was dry.

Clarkson still doesn't sound overly impressed with the car.

That is a great video!! There is little that compares to watching an NSX (especially a Type-R) thrash around the track. The rain only made it better (although admitedly slightly slower). The Top Gear videos are generally quite humorous and classy, and I didn't find this to be too offensive. Thanks much for posting this NetViper. Definitely going into the archives on my computer -- and will hopefully be put into the Prime Video archives as well.

Regards.

One thing is for sure... the Pagani Zonda totally destroyed the NSX-R. I think that car should be the target for the next NSX.

Do you want the Zonda's price tag to go with the next NSX? Actually the fastest car they tested was a Radical. Maybe that should be more to aim for with the next NSX. Really lightweight, no creature comforts, and ground effects/downforce. They also tested Clarkson's own MB AMG SL55. That did the same time as the NSX. Forget 400bhp for next NSX, too many cars have that already, 500bhp is what we need!!

I think Zonda performance at 100K pricetag would be the perfect goal for the next NSX. Low weights, High HP, and a full featured interior. Stripped down cars do not make good daily drivers. That, IMO, would go against what the NSX is all about.

I haven't seen the AMG SL55 test. Was it in the rain too?

Hurrah! TopGear finally recognizes the NSX as the fantastic car it is.

Zonda: 1:23
Lambo: 1:29
NSX-R: 1:33 (Minus 4secs for wet track!!!)
Noble: 1:33
Ferrari 575: 1:35
Vanquish: 1:36

Since they had gone to all the trouble of shipping one NSX-R to the UK, you'd think they'd try to race again on a dry day. :( Still, from that review the NSX-R chassis must possess "some kind of wonder thing" :D
