Hey Detlef,

Is this your NSX-R? I saw it a the Goodwood Festival of Speed today. Did you know it was coming over? I don't think it's being driven. If someone let me know it was here, I would of volunteered to drive it up the hill!

I think it's ug....they butchered that car....

I'm not sure how functional Chris' (Science of Speed) body work is, but it looks ten million times better than what they did to this NSX-R.

Hi,

yes... it's car no 33, the HONDA NSX-R from the 24h race.
GS Motorsport repaired the crash car after the race.....
I miss the diffusor and some other details, maybe broken at the crash.

Yes, the car looks terrible with that too big rear spoiler.
Also the front bumper dont harmonize with the rest of the car.
I think the same.

Jenson Button (BAR Honda Formula 1 driver) drove the car at Goodwood festival.
But it was only for fun and promotion.
They have changed the engine too, the old one was bad after the race. But probably not alone from the 24h race, the 10.000 miles before with a lot of test drivers.
The car was like a bitch.

regardless of color, stickers, bodyworks, overkill on mods, etc....
you guys are lucky to have the type R imports. we could only wish for one someday.....

forget about a new NSX...if there is going to be one...just give us the type R....:)

Blue Knight: We're not at all lucky here - no NSX Rs can be officialy imported - there is only one in Germany with license plate and it's owned by Honda.

If someone would try to do the same he would have to pass a homologation that is nearly as expensive as the cars itself.

yes, thats right.

I have had the chance to drive this car 3 times and I can say.
The difference isnt so big as people may think.
Surely there is another feeling, comes from the wonderfull Recaro seats and the steering wheel and the interior sound damping, who dont exist.
The secret is the weight reduction, thats the reason why the car feels 15-20 % stronger.
The suspension and the brakes are great, the throttle response is awesome. Its a very metally sound.
I mean: If I would own such a car, I dont must change anything first. But after a while I think the same would begin like at each car. Changing this and that.....

Finally its fact that with some suggestive mods (Investment 15.000 - 20.000 Euro) everyone can have the same fun, maybe some things are better after.

The NSX-R isnt available (I asked for one), no chance to get for an acceptable price.

We can get it in the US....by special order and modification. the end cost is too great to justify....possibly the cost of a lambo gallardo.....

i actually have the bestmotoring issue on the NSX-R. most of the guys that drove it on the track said it doesn't quite pass as a honda type R class. to them, a honda type R possess certain qualities that were designed into the NSX-R. nevertheless, they gave really good reviews on it. it performed quite well against the F50, GT2 and Murcielago....
