Why would you be selling a barely used timing belt and waterpump? How do you define barely used?

I know this is a dumb question, but why would you be selling a used w/p and timing belt?

Its a long story, I'll make it short.... When I first bought my car I immediately took it to have the timing and water pump done. After it was done and I was there to pay, the salesman asked me why I had the service done b/c it was just done by the previous owner about 5000 miles before hand. Nice timing on his part and stupidity for not asking on mine.Oh well, nothing like wasting $1200.
