Good day guys, this is my first thread, been creeping around here for the past two years and decided few months earlier to join.

I recently bought an NA2 2000 NSX-T from the US and shipped it to Dubai. lovely car.

but now I am facing few issues that I would like to sort out.

1. Engine shutdown randomly:
When I press the clutch the RPM will drop suddenly and maybe 30% of the times it happens the engine will go off, I took the car to the garage to make a normal maintenance, changed gear oil, checked spark plug, cleaned the idler and air filter, the car was better, rpm was more stable but it still occasionally shutdown.. lets say maybe 5% of the time now. it is more apparent when the A/C is on, when it is off even before taking it to the garage it didn't happen. another thing is sometimes it takes two times to start the car so I am thinking it is connected to this issue.

2. NSX-R / NSX-R GT Conversion.
Although I really love the pop up headlights I really want to have the latest look, and while the car has only been with me for less than 2 months, them pop up lights are growing on me and I feel the urge to do the conversion asap and not stick with them.. I can source all the parts but I still don't know where to get the wide side ducts if someone can help me wit it.

3. NSX 02+ / NSX-R wheels
I tried looking for Type R wheels but it is extremely hard to find, and If I did find they are very expensive (8k USD), so I thought I would buy the 02+ OEM wheels and paint them white, but I still can't find the place to buy them, did a search in the forums and I couldn't find anything, online search returns with 2k USD per wheel which will sum up to 8k for a set so I rather get the Type R's for that price... any tips on this?

4. Door lining, same thing as the wheels, the door lining is very hard to find and is expensive, I have this issue on both sides, should I take it to an upholstery shop? would they be able to fix this?

I am trying to be true to the NSX-R and trying to keep the whole authentic looks to it.

please advise :)

Welcome to prime!

1) I had this same problem, car would die every time I pressed clutch, clean the throttle body plate. I ran the engine while spraying carb cleaner into the throttle body and then cleaned the plate really good. This fixed my issue.

2) is this what you are looking for, downforce df-r side ducts:

3) instead of 2002+ super expensive wheels, I bought the 94-01 OEM wheels and are going to paint them white for the NSX-R look, it's a whole lot cheaper and still has good selection of sticky tires.

4) I don't really see what you need to fix there, sorry.

Be aware - the down side to the 94-01 wheels is that it is increasingly difficult to find suitable tire sizes.

When cleaning the throttle plate, since you have the later drive by wire throttle body. It is motor driven instead of cable, you will need to hold it open with a screwdriver while cleaning it. Brake cleaner works well and soak a shop rag with it and get down deep as you can with the rag. Try and clean the edges of the actual throttle butterfly as well. Over the years the PCV valve recirculates crankcase fumes/gunk that dirty's up the TB.

Shrink: will do , thanks

NSXonwheels: thanks :) will try to do that this week, the side ducts are not the ones I am looking for ill attach a pic at the end of the post, and the door lining is broken at the end where you can see that it is bending to the inside. should I get a new door lining? or can this be fixed?
and yeah im still contemplating on aftermarket vs nsx-r rims..

Old guy : noted.

Davidf: I appreciate the detailed info, will do it this week and update here if it got fixed.
