Any of you hide your NSX modification purchases occassionally from significant others (wife/girlfriend/boyfriend)?

hehehe, 'sore' subject, I'd imagine bunch of people would jump in on this thread. As a single guy, I was recommended by most friends to get all the toys NOW! :)

Hide is such an ugly word that suggests deception. If I did, I wouldn't admit it.

It's like the Army...don't ask, don't tell.

I wouldn't say "hide". Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it) my gf doesn't know the difference between a supercharger and an exhaust. Besides, I'm a single guy - I gotta get all my toys before I end up married and having to spend $6k on a dining room set and wishing I had modded my car when I had the opportunity.

I tell my girlfriend some of it, I tell my boyfriend the rest of it, I tell my wife none of it. :D

Actually, she's very supportive of my habit... I mean hobby. :D

Hi

What happens on Prime stays on Prime..mine is stock too

Nah I do not have a girlfriend that gives me a hard time. I spend what I would have spent on a girlfriend on my NSX.

Regards

Yes...all of my purchases.

She always find out sooner or later...but there's some she'll never find. (suspension, etc). Gotta play it cool man....and make sure you buy your S.O. stuff once in awhile too...keep them off the scent.

Its the frequent visits from the UPS man that gets me in all the trouble.

Imagine the coincidence when a supercharger got mistakingly delivered to my house. It was even more shocking to her when I brought it back to the UPS man for delivery to the correct address, and my car broke down and was gone for a week. ;)

She swears to me that her hearing is improving with age; my car wasnt that loud before. Sure it was honey. Everything about you is just getting better ;)

There was a guy at my brother's marina that wanted a new sailboat. His wife, Jane, hated sailing and told him if he doesn't quit spending every weekend on the boat they were through. The next spring he showed up with a brand new 42' Beneteau and the name of the boat was FUJIMO. No one could figure out where the name came from, then they asked. F U Jane I'm Moving Out.

I have them deliver directly to the installer or to my work. Imagine my surprise though when the mailroom actually hauled my Tubi and dumped it in my cubicle! (As you can imagine the box is enormous and I was expecting them to just call me to pick it up from the mailroom!)

Good thing my wife is not really into cars :)

I was deliberating over a purchase just last week of an original Mugen rear spoiler (used from overseas). I have been looking for one for some time and wanted to pull the trigger on this one but was unsure of how my S.O. would react. My conscience got the better of me while eating dinner on Saturday and I spilled the beans. Much to my surprise she just leaned back, smiled, and said "Now... did you really have to ask? Be honest, you would've bought it anyway!" So I'm in the doghouse for the next few weeks...

Payment is in the mail!

.

Being single, I don't have this problem. BUT , when I do get married, I hope it would be to an enthusiast (or one that can appreciate it) so we'd be buying them either together or as a surprise for the other....... Wake up one morning...... set of HRE 542's on the breakfast table with a bow on it, or walk outside and almost trip over the new DoLuck Kit, go to the bathroom and there's a note "BBK outside" ........one can always dream, right ?

I made a promise to two girls who are my friends that if I do some mod within a year I'll have to pay them $100 each. Secretely I bought the 02 diffuser and 99 wheels and act like nothing happen.

My wife knows of all the purchases and she SUPPORTS them. The girl wants a MODDED M5 too!! She prefers to drive my heavily modded SC'd M3 over the SUV. Funny, her name is Jane

I'm pretty good at hiding the deliveries and the drops in my bank account...its those times when i'm not picking up the phone because I'm in the garage installing the parts or an excitement in my voice when "nothing" should be going on in my garage.

Usually she would just come over out of the blue and open the garage, then i'm caught red handed.....or when my car is in the shop for "maintance" and i'm not bitching about it.

Tell her, Hell she is right there when the stuff gets delivered. She and the other girls that share me don't care as long as I keep the lights on and them living high on the hog with GAP wear.

It also helps that my wife is a closet car nut.

YOU ARE ALL GUILTY!!!

"Uh honey they are all evil here in Prime. They are making me tell u what i have been buying" :frown:
"but my car is stock???"
