In scanning the latest Car and Driver there was a nice mention of the NSX in an article about the TRX.

http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?section_id=3&article_id=6742

Here is the first two paragraphs of the article:
Referring to the 1961 Ferrari 250GT California he “borrowed” from his best friend’s father, the somehow sagacious and always rash Ferris Bueller eloquently proclaimed in the 1986 flick, “It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.”

Trying to apply that drooling dialogue to anything but a sexy exotic becomes a stretch. In the Acura lineup, the only candidate for this sort of lust is the NSX sports car. Not that all premium Hondas aren’t “choice” automobiles—it’s just that none but the NSX delivers the prestige and performance comparable to a Ferrari’s.

This issue has a lot of reviews of "super cars". I could not help but notice all the super cars were very close to the NSX in many ways except they all had >500 HP

Yep, to be a super car today, you have to have over 400 HP. Especially when you have 300 HP mistubishi's, subaru's and soon to be Ford Focus!

I believe you are referring to the TSX, Acura's just-released entry-level sedan (which is quite a nice car for the money).

The TSX is not to be confused with Acura's upcoming car, the TRX, which is a 550 hp, supercharged $60K replacement for the NSX and is due early next year... oh wait, we're not supposed to tell anyone about that. :D

(just kidding, just kidding...)

Actually, what I thought really stood out in my mind is that the NSX never, ever appears in those types of articles anymore. The $30k Evolution is there, but the 02/03 NSX is nowhere to be found.

What's worse is that if it were included, it would be dead last in every category. That doesn't bode well for any prospective redesign that doesn't HUGELY up the ante. As it is, buying an 02 or 03 NSX was purely an act of faith and loyalty to Honda (trust me, I did it).

My comment on the NSX being very similar to the supercars in Car and Driver was really meant as a compliment to NSX's because the lowest priced supercar was $290K. The Enzo Ferrari was a mind blowing $660K! and had a side bar on how it costs $750 for just the oil in the oil change. I'm also comparing from the <$30K that I paid for my used '91.

It's ok topic, you don't have to defend it. I just know that i love the NSX even more after reading something like that.

I agree that the NSX is easily one of the best used car values going. It's too bad that the only interest left, really, is in buying and selling the few thousand 91-93's that are already out there. Since, as of 03, the NSX is still for sale, it's a bad sign that it no longer gets included in those types of "eye candy" features that the mags do...

Yup, I just got one and replaced the MDX as the family car...

Speed (especially 0 to 60 or to 150 for that matter) is not every thing. Remember, the NSX was never designed to be a drag racer. It was designed to be driven at 160+mph and to be as reliable as an Accord, and that is exactly what it is and does.

When ever I see Bill's NSX (200,000 + miles) with no major maintenance (hell, it doesn't even burn oil), I just smile and tell myself "Man, I'm going to have this car for a long time".

My NSX now has 28,000 miles and I put just over 10,000 miles on it in one year. By my calculations, when the car's odometer reaches 200,000 miles, it should be 2018 or so, and I'm sure I'll still be wearing the same smile I have on my face now :)

You know, in the three years that the NSXprime forums have been around, that may be one topic that we haven't discussed ad nauseum...
