I have two key fobs for my 1993 NSX and on both the plastic loop has broken. Does anyone know where to get new key fobs preferably more sturdy metallic ones??
If you just want something that works you can find out the frequency of the Kenwood remote and look for universal car remotes on AliExpress and program it (assuming you still have a remote that works).
Hmm. When I bought my NSX 30 years ago, I paid for it with money I'd made developing 300MHz AM radios -- for car alarms, garage door openers, wireless security systems, etc.I'm gonna start selling them to fund the radio project.
I wonder if this remote might be compatible, I just ordered one from this guy- my car only has one working remote.Doesn't help that Kenwood doesn't have a P/N for the remote.
Where can I can the remote clones for $3?The $3 cloning remotes work ok. They have to be trained and that is the issue: need a working remote.
Just need the 315mhz ones. They are just cheap.
I have a half a dozen used matched sets and a NOS unit. I'm gonna start selling them to fund the radio project.
Sounds cool, but there's a reason those remotes are always made of RF-transparent plastic. Aluminum would severely attenuate the signal -- probably to the point of preventing the system from working at all.I'd like a 3D scan of the original remote parts with intent to have it CNCd out of billet aluminum.
Maybe buy two of these and (to avoid any programming complications) swap the guts from your existing remotes into these housings. Here’s one of the two NSX fobs I have - both with broken latches.
The Honda NSX I imported from Japan has a similar generic keyless entry systems and it works totally fine.
This is the model in my NSX. Based on service records it was installed in 2014.Got a picture of the receiver unit? I suspect it might be one of mine.
That’s definitely not Oem. I’d go with the solution offered by @I_M_Legend . I’m content using keys to lock/unlock like peasant, but i’ll admit I'm often tempted to go with ^^^.

As noted by others, that is aftermarket not OEM so most of the preceding advice is not relevant. You can dig around and try and find out what brand the aftermarket system is and perhaps they can still supply a replacement. Since it is a multi button remote one of the cloneable universal remotes may work if you do not want to go with @I_M_Legend 's solution. Here’s one of the two NSX fobs I have - both with broken latches.
