I'm curious what an NSX is considered by insurance companies. It's a 3.0-3.2 litre V6, so I'd imagine that's a benifit compared to other exotics. I own a 1991 Toyota MR2 and I pay $1300 a year in insurance.

Give the year of your NSX and your price if you'd like, just to get a jist of what these beauties would cost. I'm interested in all the models previous to the fixed headlight ones.

I don't think the insurance companies care about that as much as they do about the aluminum skin being difficult to fix and just about every part on the car being expensive to replace.

You can check out the FAQ, specifically "Pricing", at http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/BuySell/pricing.htm for a good estimate of current prices.

The other thing - quite aside from once again re-reading all those posts (thank you for the links, Mr. F.N.) from other people about their insurance rates - is that rates are going to vary depending on company, state, town, age, driving record, coverages and limits, etc.

There's a very easy way to find out how much it will cost for you to insure an NSX. Just call your insurance company and ask. They can tell you, even without you having to buy the car. Or you can check an online service such as http://www.insweb.com

I live in the city with the most stolen cars per capita nationwide. My record SUCKS (in fact just got my FL license back a few weeks ago), FAR too many points and suspensions against me. On a 92 NSX I'm paying $6,600 a year with a $500 deductible. 97 Audi A4 adds another $2400 a year, and there's a couple other cars on it that are CHEAP because theres no full coverage.

I'm also 25 and not married, that doesn't help ONE bit.

I was on Nationwide last month, until September I'm on Geico, and when that's cancelled I'll be on Progressive again. They cost even more.

Thank you much for the helpful information. It seems that a 1991 NSX is not that far from what my 1991 MR2 costs in insurance. I was under the impression that since they're considered "exotics" by some, insurance companies would use this to get the most money out of us. I was expecting about $5,000 a year considering what the price of an NSX is.

Thanks again.

This may help you. My previous car was a 2001 MR2 Spyder and I paid around $1500 per year. Now I have a 2003 NSX and pay $2060 per year, so it's not that much more considering how expensive the car is.

 Heck, your insurance company should give you an NSX after the 4th year. After all, you've paid them enough to buy one. :D

ill be paying $2200 for my civic, NSX, and renters insurance a year.

my insurance when i had my 91 mr2 turbo was $850-900 every sicx months. its not big of a difference...
