NSX in Clarkson Supercar Showdown 2007

I just saw this dvd. It shows a lot of nice cars. You could say alot about Clarkson, but he mention the NSX in it and that's a good thing. He is entertaining though.

They test the Porsche 911 GT3 vs the Audi R8 and he says this:

"I'm no fan, but I will admit that if you wanted a user friendly use it everyday supercar. All you had to do, once you discounted the Honda NSX, was to decide which 911 would be best"

Nice to hear that the NSX is not forgotten. And yes he goes into the rails with the Porsche and that would never have happend with a NSX :smile:

This dvd can be found out there on the web. They also test the Veyron and it is not a secret that it is the favorite.

Who is the lady they had driving the R8? It almost looked like the only reason the GT3 won was because she messed up on that corner, what an amazing car to keep up with the GT3 like that.

yea I think the R8 would have beaten the GT3 if there was a better driver in the seat... she wouldn't even downshift on the turns.

She is an amazing driver. They call her "Queen of the 'Ring" for her prowess over there at the Nurburgring. Perhaps if she didn't get on the dirt towards the end it would have been different. But the R8 lost to the 911 in another Top Gear test too, so its no suprise that its not gonna beat a GT3 around a track.

Yes Sabine is really fast. I have not had the pleasure to be a passanger in the RingTaxi she drives, but I had a few beers at her bar in Nurburg.

She was fun to talk to. She almost beat Clarkson in a Ford truck last year when she drove the Ring in 10 minutes and a few seconds.

That poor R8, she rather annoying while commenting her drive. Besides that, I'm not a fan of women with very masculine genetics or behaviour and I would certainly not call her sexy. [provocation ON] Again, is this a car test drive or a test kinda 'Mom, look, how fast I can drive on my bicycle without the supporting wheels'. [provocation OFF]

Well I think the annoying part was her trying to egg on her opponent with that thick accent. It just wasn't pleasing to the ear.

Which is why TopGear < Fifth Gear.

He sucks, he's great for 'entertainment' the same way WWF and Reality TV shows are successful. Great for goofballery, but not a good source of information but his own opinionated statements. The whole thing is a show. Both the GT3 and R8 were off line, driving side-by-side, etc... all for the 'excitment' and 'show'. It was not a real race and no one should consider the outcome/race as a true demonstration of the car's abilities/as a comparison. although it was cool to see Sabine slide the R8...

If you want objective feedback/information on a car, look at 5th gear.

Where did Tiff ever dislike the NSX?

Not necessarily bad, though he did say "you might as well get a civic type-r " or something to that effect. The video was on youtube for sometime, but a quick search shows it might have been removed.
