I saw this book in a shop, I think it was called "20th centry cars" or something like that. Obviously I went and have a look at the NSX section... started off with saying something about Honda having racing pedigree (or was it in the S800 section?!), which is better than some authors who only write things like "...its not a Ferrari". One thing made me laugh was that it said that NSX is a copy of this car... MG EX concept...

I am not sure if it was an English author, but its really Englishy thing to say...

The car is supposed to be aluminium like the NSX, but composite panels. Designed in 1985. 4 wheel drive. 3 litre V6, 0-60 in 5 sec and 160 mph. Honda did have connections with Rover around this time, and Rover-MG connection is there too, so it could be true.

The rear end loks like the MGF, so I guess they did build it after all...

Here is some links I found on this concept car.

Wow. This is the first time I've seen that car. The similarities are amazing!

It even has taillights from the Acura Legend Coupe and no side mirrors (like the current Acura TL Concept)! - EDIT - see below Ahead of its time.

LOL - The interior kills me! Ah, I miss the 80's. :D

EDIT: I just realized it does in fact have side mirrors, although they are mounted in an usual spot.

WOW! Read this quote from the page:

"You have to admire what [the Japanese] have done. Take the Honda NSX for example. This came a long time after our MG EX-E design and I talked to their guys who were intrigued by the car - you can make your own comparisons from that."
MG Enthusiast Magazine (November 1995)

Interesting that the car is a LHD model.

Is that a flux capacitator next to the speedo? The shift knob is right out of my 94 Accord, interesting placement of the parking brake handle
