Last night I had a dream that my mom bought me a red 98 COUPE (during the course of the dream, the car somehow became silver...) in honor of my acceptence into CalArts (I have not ACTUALLY heard back from them yet). I took the car to the DMV and applied for a CA EXEMPT license plate (I plan on making an animated film in college where I am driving an NSX with such a license plate).

They made me take a road test, and I passed with "extra credit." They gave me a certificate of achievement to hang in my rear window, but I declined it as I did not want to encumber the car with any extra weight

With my new license plate intact, I took the car ALL OVER Los Angeles, starting at the I-10/PCH "junction" in Santa Monica, and going north on PCH from there, up to Sunset, around UCLA, down Sunset Strip, up Crescent Heights to Laural Canyon into N. Hollywood, around Universal City, and back to West Hollywood, back to I-10, then to the 405, exiting Wilshire and blasting through the Supulvida pass and Bel Air all the way back to the 405 at the 101 interchange, and then took the freeway south, back to the 10 and came home. The entire trip I maintained speed between 103mph and 168.2mph (I was impressed that MY car could go .2mph faster than the "actual" top speed of the car). Of course, in real life I don't like driving over 75 in clear traffic. But on long trips that take me through no-man's land, another 15 or so mph can be nice.

I found the most remote parking spot available so as to avoid vandals and spitters and other car's doors dinging mine. The rest of the dream is a blur in my mind. But when I woke up, just as I was in the state of becoming conscious, the first thing on my mind was taking my new car for a ride... and then I realized I was back in reality, and for about two minutes, I was actually depressed as if I had actually had the car and now lost it.

Anyway, for the last year or so, short of owning a home, the only material possession that I have actually WANTED has been an NSX (people ask me "what do you want for Christmas?" and I just shrug--I am not really pleased by "things" and "stuff"). So I've decided to start working toward the specific goal of purchasing an NSX. My regular work will go toward supporting myself and paying the rent. And this fundraiser will go toward the car.

I intend to offer my artistic services to anyone interested. If I had a specialty, it would be drawing people...but I can really draw anything. I've done a couple of family portraits for friends and acquaintences, and have designed many, many characters for people (I want to have a career in character design). I work in color or black and white. I will post a couple of links to some of my work in a minute.

Any help that anyone can offer me will be greatly appreciated.

A lot of my best stuff is at CalArts right now for a portfolio review, but if there's a specific kind of drawing you want to see let me know, and if I have one like that, I'll scan it and post it asap.
