Does anyone know if the front emblem on the NSX is secured by a bolt or just a seal glued on?? I recently bought a 05 with Japan red honda emblem and want to change it but afraid to yank it off without know what secure it. Thanks everyone.

Its glued on, just heat it up slightly and pry it off with a wedge tool. Careful not to scratch your bumper in the process. IMO, leave the red Honda emblem.

I don't know what you are talking about with glue. When I look up the part in the acura catalogue, it also lists a nut. If its' glued, I'm not sure why they felt the need to put two holes in the bumper. There is a different part number for the '02+ cars though, so maybe that's different.

I could not see a way to do this without removing the bumper because (on my '92 anyway) the styrofoam impact absorber backed right up to where it screws in it so there are no access holes to it from below.

I would recommend taking the bumper off either way. That is relatively simple, and then even if yours (for some inexplicable reason) uses glue only, you can just push it off from below after heating it and not worry about marring the paint.

It sounds the emblem on OP's car has already been changed. If its the big fat solid Honda "H" emblem from the type R, then mostly likely its secured using glue/tape. But take off the bumper to be sure, you never know how the previous owner secured it on.

Take a piece of fishing line or dental floss and run it under the emblem. If it's an aftermarket emblem it will slide all the way throug hand the emblem will come right off. If it's an oem one, the line will stop in the middle which will mean that it's secured with two pins and a washer under the bumper cover. I had mine removed and the holes filled in when I had my bumper repainted. I prefer the shaved look and have no visible Acura emblems on my car.

Most front emblems are secured with double-sided tape. Try removing it by pulling fishing line under the emblem to slice through the tape without damaging the paint.

 Mine came w/no front emblem so I put one back on. It helps to draw attention away from the crappy re-paint the previous owner inflicted on the bumper.

That's okay. It may be far from good, but as long as it looks good from far.

I agree with ChopsJazz. Heat it up with a heat gun and use some fishing line to break the tape away.

I have done this with my integra's in the past and it worked great.

Heat is the best and a non-metallic wedge very slow. If the pins are there, you will feel them. No need to fill the holes later. The new emblem will be glued on to cover the holes.

I just removed mine recently.

Mine was secured with the pins & the duoble sided tape

Go to Home Depot, in the plumbing dept you will find a very inexpensive pvc cable saw that is used to cut pvc in very tight spots. This has two small handles connected via a very thin, very flexible cable that I used to slid under the emblem and cut thru the tape and pins in less than 60 seconds without making a mark on the paint. I was sure to "saw" in a directions that was up and away from the paint.

Very easy and very cheap

Good luck
