Hi.

I have been reading:
http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showt...ain-in-the-Formula-painting-experience-needed
http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php/101016-Formula-Red-R-77-or-R-510

and then I found this:
https://theautopaintdepot.com/autom...-r-77-touch-up-paint-for-acura-nsx-all-years/

have anyone tried this guys?

I never heard of them and I want to repaint the badly painted bumpers (I will do it myself) so I want to see where I can get a tri-coat system since it seems discontinued.

Another avenue is to paint the whole car and in that case, I will go base clear knowing it will not look the same but at least it will be easier to match color and matchable by a body shop in case of a claim in the future.

I watched the Paint Society video repainting the bumpers and side skirts in an NSX and they matched the paint perfectly but who knows if that car was repainted or not.

Thanks.

I would not recommend DIY painting the NSX yourself unless you are an auto body painter by trade/experience and have access to a booth. The R77 paint system is not a big mystery- any body shop should be able to pull the paint codes and mix a perfect match for the base coat and mid-coat. My shop has a computer system that does all of this. It's a BASF/Glasurit product line.

Thanks but I'm the wrong person to be told not to do something, I will do exactly the opposite :)

I have all the equipment/garage/booth and although I'm not a pro I have prepped cars for paint and painted a bunch of things.

I talked to a local shop and they have a similar system too and they say they can prep the mid-coat for me too so I think I will go that route when I get ready to paint the bumpers.
