This is an extremely rare dry sump system for the C30A and C32B engines. It’s a hybrid system that uses a Barnes Dry Sump pump to scavenge oil from the custom sump, which then returns the oil to an external oil tank. The tank is kept nearly full, which feeds the factory oil pump a constant supply of oil through the side of the sump, in virtually any running condition.

The sump itself is made from a solid chunk of aluminum that’s CNC machined into the appropriate shape. It is EXTREMELY sturdy, and doubles as a reinforcement girdle to additionally support the main caps. This sump will allow unheard of RPM to be spun because of the reinforcement qualities inherent in its design.
This system is designed to work with a remote oil filter and cooler and is not too difficult to setup on an NSX. The included tank, for instance is designed to bolt onto existing factory tabs.
However, modifications to the NSX chassis need to be performed. The pulley for the dry sump pump itself interferes with the passenger frame rail. The frame rail must be notched accordingly. Aluminum can be welded back in to replace any lost strength. In addition to this, building a tubular front crossmember will greatly assist with optimum scavenge line placement, as line placement is critical for proper scavenge.
