I cant seem to find a big descent pic.. and I cant find too a picture of its top on.. could someone please help?

For a long time there was a convertable NSX at Mark's here in Phoenix, but I don't think it is there anymore otherwise I would snap some photos for ya when I got there in the next few days.

P.S. - I wasn't impressed at all, not a very good job, interesting idea though.

Illinois plate if I remember correctly, anyone know him?
Also, I'm pretty sure there's a few pics in the FAQ somewhere...

That owner is local, I believe. Someone sent me pics, but made me swear that I wouldn't post them. I do have them on my laptop, however, and will show them to anyone interested--in person. Here is the page from the FAQ:

Here is the same page on nsxhelp.com, but with a few more photos added at the bottom:

BTW, I would never consider doing this to my NSX as I believe it will greatly compromise the structural integrity of the car.

Hey PHOEN$X,

I'm wondering if the owner has sent you pics with the hard/soft top on?

I believe there aren't such pics on the net, makes me wonder for a long time if the convertible NSX even has a top.

No, I've never met/spoken to the owner. I haven't seen any pics of any NSX conversions with a top on either, but given the storage space constraints it probably wouldn't be feasible to have a conventional top like front-engine cars do.

There was one up for sale on ebay maybe a year ago or so... it had the rag top up; it looked pretty rediculous. Even with the top down, I still think the targa looks better.

It should have a warning on how fast you can drive with the top up. It looks very flimsy and that it might come off. I have only seen pics of it.

i have a picture from the latest issue of hot4s no.94 april 2003
its an advert for fusion car audio and security. The picture has a black american nsx convertible taking up the whole page with a blonde girl standing next to it. maybe neonsx can pic up this issue (latest issue) and scan it for you guys. (i have no scanner :(

AJNSX: "Hot4s" isn't one of those car mags that shows off more female flesh than it does cars is it??? i ain't buying that from my local newsagency!!!

...might check it out in another suburb though if it ain't too raunchy. :D

Attached is 1 of two photo's taken of ICE-T's convertable NSX.

The top doesn't look to sturdy when it's up, but IMO I still like it. If/when I get another NSX I'd like it to be a convertible.

Here's a pic from my files

Here's a black one with a Comptech bodykit on it selling here locally. 41,307 miles, for 49,900.

demigod,

That's the same car as posted above, it belongs to Ice-T(or use to).

Is it close enough to you that you can go and look at what size the wheels/tires are? Their for sale ad stated it had 20" wheels, and I'd like to know if that's true.

Thanks

Yeah the ad says 19's infront and 20's on back. The car is 30 miles away in Los Angeles, are you interested in buying the car?

-Mike

I'm not interested in buying the car, but I've always wanted to see a car with a 19/20" wheel/tire setup, if it's possible.

Thanks

If you do stop by, snap some more shots!

Veleno... no offense, but that red convertible nsx looks like crap. :( The white hood over engine looks hacked and unprofessional with the huge sag, and completely stuffs up the curved shape. A bit of brown paint and it would be straight from F&F2. :) It would only look acceptable when down, and i'd be constantly concerned about the engine melting or setting the canvas on fire.

Thanks for posting though... i realize this is all personal taste, but it shows me a proper roof is definitely the only way to go.

A convertible roof should be motorized which is so funky; once i walked past a saab as the owner was lowering the roof. i stopped to admire it and simply said "COOL" before continuing to walk. That is the type of reaction the nsx deserves.

Arrrgh! I can't stand it no more...lord please forgive me for posting this pic. Please, don't anybody make derogatory comments about this car (the owner could be lurking nearby)! By the way, my friend snapped this shot when it was seen out and about.

Veleno: You would be stylin' in this baby--I bet you'd be picking up all the chicks in Guam (if you haven't already ;) ).

I have a SAWSALL if anyone wants me to make their targa a
convertible by this weekend! $50.00 plus blades should do it.

Thx guys.. wonder where you guys got all those pix..

The black one which nsxparts posted seems to be the nicest done.. I think it would be better if he make the top black or a hard top which looks totally stock when placed.
