sorry if this is in the wrong section. but i was needing to know if the nsx gauge cluster was all electronic. or would there be anything special that runs the cluster that's unlike a normal honda civic gauge cluster. the reason i ask im completely restoring and customizing a 1983 honda civic and i can put any gauge cluster i want in it,as long as is the normal type cluster that don't need anything more than a harness pigtail plugged up.

The entire guage cluster is all electronic. There are 2 multipin plugs that connect to the rear of the cluster. One on the left and the other on the right.

I hope this helps. Check out the Service Manuals on line and you may be able to get a little more information. Good luck with your project.

it does thanks, as long as it has pig tails to where i can hook all of the wires up to the right place and work, im good.

Did you just buy an NSX cluster from e-bay the other day?

Cheers
nigel
naa, i just now started looking but i would still like a little more info on the cluster. how many total wires are in the plugs that go to the back? i mean is all im gonna need is the cluster and pigtail for this to work in my civic.i know i will have to do some wiring work but thats all correct

Attached is a page from the 91-94 NSX manual on the guage cluster. At the bottom of the page it shows the 2 connectors I had mentioned before.

Note that these connectors are part of teh cars wiring harness and do not come out with the cluters. Chances are whne you find the cluster, the wire harness it will not be part of it. If I can remeber correctly, these connectors are green.

Hope this information helps you out a little more.
