Hello All,

Now that some of our NSX's are 25 years old. I would like to create this thread to discuss your observation as to, how the NSX Body and Panels are holding up after 25 years on the road.

- Notice any corrosion problems ?
- Notice any issues with the AL welds on the body?
- Notice any body or panel integrity issues?
- Notice any suspension parts or body stress cracks?

If your NSX was damaged in an accident and was repaired properly, please indicate this fact.

It would be interesting to get input from the Folks that track their NSX, as these cars are pushed to the limit.

Thanks in advance.
Bram

My NSX is an October 1990 built car, and I have recently had all the panels off, paint stripped and refinished.

The only minuscule evidence I could find of any 'corrosion' was near the passenger side nut-serts in the frame behind the door, basically where the rear fender bolts to the frame. When I say 'corrosion' - the paint had slightly bubbled. It was easily rectified by light sanding and etch priming / painting.

Structurally the car shows no signs of any issues with the welds or frame, my car also had virtually no corrosion on any of the steel bolts either due to the dry Australian climate.

My 92 has very little of anything to show as far as corrosion goes. Even the steel bumper beams were perfect when I replaced them. I have had my car in many pieces for various reasons and I haven't seen anything.

my 2003 has:
- paint bubbling on the triangle rear strut brace, repaired with sandblasting and powder coating
- battery tray (probably like everyone else)

I have had my car apart a fair bit lately for replacing the front fenders to wider ones running ducting etc and taking the engine out more than once for modifications and for the amount of abuse it gets on track its amazing how all the joints, welds and everything is holding together, the upside of all this work is none of my bolts are stuck now

I've had my car disassembled completely. No problems on a '92 with 125k miles.

Note that Hugh had a lower suspension control arm fracture from daily driving. But, he probably had ~250k miles on it.

Had the front and rear beams out before with little wear. Never really looked to closely though. Over all there's nothing out of the ordinary that I've seen throughout the years of my 91 that's been out of place. I'll keep an eye out though since this is interesting.
