This kit is a 13” prototype kit built by Warren “The Brake Man”, Warren is an industry leader who is used as an expert for various magazines. His accomplishments range from prototype carbon braking systems to patented bus and super-train systems.

I asked Warren to help me build a better brake system for my World Challenge NSX. He gathered all the information like weight percentages, and NSX room constraints. Warren calculated a system that would work as well as my competitions mono-block design. Those calipers are $4500 each. Beyond my budget. Warrens patented design was tested as ridged at near half the weight. The Calipers he chose have four larger diameter pistons in the front, along with a pad that has more surface area. Another improvement he made was a thinner curved vein 13” floating rotor. Based on his calculations this was all I needed especially when coupled with ducting and his thermal insulators (Insert discs in the pistons that insulate the heat from the fluid). The benefit from lighter rotors is enormous. Rotating mass is the worst weight you can have. It robs horsepower and takes more to slow down. Many of the WC team use the $800 each Alcon rotors even if they are sponsored by other brands. Warren is the only other manufacturer that uses the same grade of material and both heat treats and cryo freezes his rotors like Alcon. Another superior part of his design is the use of expensive aircraft square seals instead of O-rings, this gives less drag on the pistons for less pad drag and less heat.

Brake Man pads are super expensive because they are heat cured, and second to none in consistency. The ones for this kit are about ¾” thick for long life. Pads are an important part of racing and can be summed up with a few details- The materials used in all of the brands are compounds that work best in a particular heat range, and depending on the compound the pad will have a strong initial bite, but will fade quicker then a pad that has less initial bite, but has the ability to stay the same under race conditions. Every pad falls somewhere in that range. Generally initial bite will fool a beginning racer into felling that this is a better brake choice, but Pro’s tend to go with the consistent pad as they have learned that consistency is a big part of the game. The #3 compound brake pad is an excellent brake pad and has been credited with being the difference with viper community pro’s and Runoff champions.

This system was designed for Dual aftermarket master cylinders, but was designed with the same ratios as stock. In my early testing I used this kit with the stock NSX power master (In four races).

I own a Grand Am Cup team and no longer intend on running the World Challenge. Warren and I worked closely together on this project, so I informed him of this sale (I need the money) he said he would be happy to help anyone if they were to need any further assistance.

The kit comes with:
(2) Front calipers L&R (New)
(2) Rear calipers L&R
(4) 13” Curved vein rotors L&R (New)
(8) Piston insulating inserts (for the front, New)
(4) Goodridge braded brake lines (Best)
(4) Metric to std. 2lb inline pressure valves (New)
Mounting brackets
Hats and hardware
(1) 1/3 used front pad set
(1) ¼ used rear pad set
(1) New front pad set
I will also include a new billet aluminum bracket for mounting (dual Tilton masters w/balance bar)(Not included) to the NSX.

Oh- the pads are replaceable w/o removing the calipers
