Replacing the battery should be a straight forward thing, but I noticed an aluminum rod in front of the battery on my 91 NSX. If I remove the rod, it looks liek the battery can be pulled out.

Has anyone replaced their battery before and can shine some light

Thanks

No one has ever replaced their battery, sorry. The search is your friend, but to make it short and easy for you, yes you need to remove the spare tire bracket.

What, your battery quit working????

My most used (and favorite) tool for the NSX is the 10mm deep socket. Get one and use it. It will take the spare tire bracket out, AND remove the nuts holding the battery down, AND remote the nuts holding the cables to the battery.

Remove negative cable first and put it on last.

I love how 2/3 of the nuts/bolts on the NSX are 10mm or 12mm.

Yes, you need to remove the spare wheel mounting bracket to remove the battery.

Now I've got another battery related question.

In the past I tried the Odyssey 545 battery and although I love it's weight saving, it simply would not hold its charge longer than three (3) days before being emptied, probably because of my alarm-system.

Can anyone tell me what Amperage is need for the car to be able to stand still for say 1-2 weeks max while still saving some weight ??
From memory, the OEM battery is something like 65-68 Ah.

BTW, sorry to hi-jack this thread (a little).
