In case anyone else is silly enough to be curious about putting snow tires on an NSX - here is what I did:

Bought some used OEMs in 16/17 size (my car is a 95T)....and the ones I found were full chrome.....kind of odd at first .....but after I had the "Tinsel on the Tree" image going.....OK Got them for a good price via Prime.

Then ordered Blizzak LM-22 snows in exact OEM sizes (215/45-16 and 245/40-17). The LM-22 is special high speed version of Blizzak rated for Z level speeds (160mph+) and does NOT contain the micro-cell rubber outer layer for ice traction. The micro-cell rubber just shreds off at high speed - so they make these tires without it. About $1100 cash & carrry for the set in Toronto area.

I don't intend to drive it in bad weather. But now I can take it out on cold days when roads are clear and actually be able to move it and turn corners without loss of traction. The summer tires are just like 4 big ice cubes when it gets cold. Very very scary. Would attach pics but I don't know how to do that in a posting.

Took it out on dry day. Drives mostly like summer tires except for:

Quieter (really)
Turn in not as sharp
At limit feels a bit greasy like driving on sand layer over asphalt.

Enjoy

Makes perfect sense to me. If my car wasnt so low that clearance in my back lane wasnt an issue (it isnt plowed), Id do the same.

I had LM22s on my S2000 way back then. They were AWESOME. I would destroy the 4WD cars on the road, Audis, SUVs, whatever, when the snow was bad, I owned the roads in that car with those tires on it.

You also learn way more about how the car handles when the grip is about 10%. Go have fun!

I'm currently running Blizzak LM-25's on 18" oem wheels on my M3 and love them. Compared to the set of Arctic Alpins on old Lexus IS300, these are way better in terms of traction, noise and road feel. I can still break traction of course on take off and panic stops but these are about as close to dry weather tires as I have ever experienced.

Take some pics of the NSX on snow and post them up!

Hey you can still drive it when it snows. Through a 45lb weight in the the trunk and your good. I drove it for 2 winters no problem. I got blizzak REVO's.
