Hey Guys,

I had the car out at Mosport this past Tuesday, and managed to hook up a camera in the car to capture some footage.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfWhJyU6ZAU

The Car is a 2003 Berlina black, and is mostly stock. The only mods are a DF Carbon Stack intake system, NSX-R steering wheel assembly, Zanardi shifter stalk, NSX-R Titanium shift knob and boot.

Plans for the upcoming season are KW V3's, 17/18 SOS Volk Time Attacks and some 235/40/17 front 275/35/18 Dunlop Direzza Z1 star spec tires. I would also like to get an exhaust but am still on the fence. I want power as opposed to an F1 sound.

More Camber!!!

Wow, no helmet? Windows up? Can't get away with that down here in the States.

Yeah, I can't get a helmet to clear in My car. I want to wear one, I always wore one when I tracked My Integra Type R. Helmets are not mandatory. The rules with the group I go out with is either windows completely up or completely down.

Aside from a racing seat what else can I do? I'm only 5"10. I don't want to run with the targa off, I can't stand the cowl shake.

I'm 5'10 and fit with a helmet and I like to drive with the seat pretty vertical.

Dali makes a bottom seat cushion replacement that drops the height about 1" +/-. But at 5'10 you should be able to fit.

I'm 5'9" (top tall - mostly torso) and fit with a helmet in my car...you should really get in and check your seating position as that isn't that tall for our cars.

I find it very tight, if My head moves a certain way with the helmet on it gets lodged, and really rubs into the ceiling.

I am sure I will find a way to overcome this small obstacle, as I want to wear a helmet, and will need to as I further push the cars limits. With the incorporation of a more capable suspension setup, R-compunds and more aggressive brake pads, the need for increased safety is required.

Nice video. Did you go with the Desmond Sie BMW group?

Toronto welcome another 02+ to the scene. You should come out to our next club event in Mississauga (Nov 14), or the pre-holiday brunch on Dec 5. All events are posted in the Canadian Regional section posted in the sub-section of NSX Club of Canada. Join the club and meet the locals.

I went to Mosport with Apex driving school. Lots of Porches, every time I have been out with them.

I have hooked up with Bram several times already, and I plan on joining the club this coming season. What is the Nov.14 event all about? I plan to keep the car on the road as long as the snow doesn't fly.

We should try to get as many guys together this year to hit the track up several times. To own a car of this calibre and not realize it's potential in stock form at the track, to not experience what this car was made to do is a sin.

I look forward to meeting all the members

I have been to more than my share of Apex days and like the guys who run them, and generally also the people who attend. I know that they do not insist on helmets, insist on windows down, inisist on full marshals, ect...

But I am a bit surprised that they let you out without an instructor. Your driving looks good, but IMO anyone who has enough experience to solo knows to clean out the car, roll the windows down and surely has found a way to sit in their car with a helmet on. You should have pulled into the pits after you saw that bottle rolling around. Ive done dumb stuff like that too, but when that happened you needed to go into the pits instead of risking your car and those around you.

My $0.02:
I like your driving. Nice and smooth.
IMO you are too tight in T2, let it drift out between the apexs more and use that big patch of pavement at the second apex. The more you use that patch the more space you will have exiting 2, which is exactly what you need.
I think you're too early in T4. Hang on until you cross the fall line (about half a second) then bring the wheel in. It will allow you to accelerate down the hill in a straight line aligned with the left curb heading into 5a instead of accelerating while your still turning.
I like 1, 5abc, 8, 9, 10

^^oh Dave, you are so dreamy when you talk like that....

Seriously, you need to put all your track shit back into your car and come out to CMP next summer. Seriously...!

Thanks for the tips, that was my 2nd time out at Mosport and 2nd time on the track in a new car in years. Always something to work on to improve. I can't wait for this upcoming season to really work on the aspects of my driving, and ensuring that I have things in place (helmet) to increase the pace and safety of the driving experience.

We should try to get some of the other NSX club members to come out and play!

With Tips like these Dave, you shoud be an Instructor....Come on get your car back to racing specs.

Lmk when you attend your next track day. I will join you.

I plan on doing a few more of the Apex driving school sessions. Not sure which dates, as they have yet to release they're 2011 schedule.

The other group that is apparently good to go out with is Dexter driving school. I have some friends that have gone to they're sessions and really enjoy them.

Bram: Your trip to Suzuka and Fuji speedway must have You pumped to take Your red rocket out on the track this year! Trip look amazing by the way!

I'll probably try and make it out to a couple of the Hanson school's HPDE events next year. I'm getting rusty.

You should attend the Genessey Valley BMW school at Mosport. Best value going, good instructors and good attendees.

But you'll need an appropriate helmet.

You should buy my Arai - I don't need it anymore!

Not all helmets are the same height. I have an HJC and am close to 6 feet tall and fit in the NSX T with stock seats. You gotta go shopping...

And not all bodies are the same shape... ;) I am six feet tall and don't have a hope of fitting in the stock NSX seats with a helmet. I wedged myself in there for a few track events but eventually went to another vehicle at least in part because of the headroom issue.

Um, perhaps you should be wearing an appropriate racing helmet, and not this:

I fit but also tight so I did the same and got a 996tt for a DD and track and now I fit just fine with room to spare in stock seats. For NSXPO I will also track the 996tt as opposed to the NSX for that and many other reasons.

I'd consider investing in a racing seat. You'd be suprised how much more FEEL you get out of the car and how much more relaxed you'll be (compared to holding yourself in place with your own muscles in a stock seat). At a minimum get the padless dali factory seat cushion.

On track: Line looks good, you're smooth, but in Turn 2, I drift about 1/2-1 car width off the middle between apexes, in Turn 4 i'd turn in slightly earlier, and for Turn 8 I would also probably hit the first apex on the right, making it a triple-apex.

LOL... WTF is up with your signature? I just noticed that. I am glad I am your standard of measure... everyone likes to compare themselves to me I guess....
