In Memory of Curt Mitchener (11/9/1960-1/17/2008)

Last January our community was suddenly devastated when friend, father, coach, and loving husband, Curt Mitchener, tragically passed away of a heart attack. Curt was a very friendly and generous individual. He always played an active role in the community whether it was coaching little league teams or lending a hand to someone in need. He was a fun filled person who could always bring a smile to your face. Curt will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. His kind heart and personality shines through his loving family.

Our rally aims to give back to Curt and his family in appreciation for what they have given to our community. Your charitable donation will go toward the further education of Curt's three children. Please help us sooth the loss of Curt by participating in something he would have loved.

The Poker Run

There will be five predetermined destination points during the course of the rally. Each point consists of a short break where your team will receive a poker card along with directions to the next rally point. The best five card hand at the end of the event wins. Cash Prizes/Gifts will be given away to the top three hands of the day.

Co-Pilots are highly recommended! Turn by turn details, Mileage, and Toll Amounts for each stop will be listed on your direction sheets.

Additional Details...

Each driver and passenger will be responsible for signing a waiver prior to participating in the rally. Driver waivers can be found on our website. Either email them back or print and bring them to the rally. Passenger waivers will be available at the event. If you do not wish to print out a waiver we will have them available the morning of the event. If we do not have a signed form you will not be able to participate.

Donations can be made in the form of cash or check. You are not required to make the donation until the morning of registration. If you would like to make your donation ahead of time locate the "Donate Now" icon on our site. Please provide all of your information with the donation. Checks can be made out to Lori Mitchener.

We would like to thank all of you who have participated in our previous events this year. Its because of you that we were able to raise over $3500 for charity this summer. Its our goal to share this wonderful experience with you while doing something we all love. Spread the word to your friends and fellow members. The more participants the more successful we can make this event! Additional donations from outside sources and non-participants are more than appreciated.

If you plan to attend, please send me a private message or email with:
1. Name
2. Car you plan on attending with

After you RSVP, your name will be added to the list on our forum.

There is no RSVP deadline, you will be able to register and participate up to the day of the event.. If you definitely plan to attend please RSVP to make things a little easier for organizational purposes. You can reach us at [email protected]

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us. We are more than happy to answer and of your concerns. Additional information can be found on our website. You can also check out the forum for more details.

Just a suggestion, but 175 miles for a Poker Rally is a loooooooooooong rally, probably get more participation with about 75 miles less. JMHO

Well, we all know you are nuts Tony. Plus for me to drive home from CT would add many more miles....

Looks like a good cause but I just drove 1000+ kilometers in a Renault Scenic in France and "EVERYONE" in France thinks they are on a Rally

Monte Carlo was very interesting Ferraris ,Lambos and Aston Martins everywhere

Hope all is well in the states and yes Tony is nuts but we knew that already.

Going to Cannes today but I agree with TheDon it is a looong drive for a poker rally especially since you have 175 up and then whatever it takes to get back

have a great day all. unfortunately leaving the Cote d zur tomorrow to come back to the cold

Hi Alan,

Did you notice how the dotted lines on the highway are the bike lane:):).

Hope the trip is going well.

Regards,
LarryB

Anyone else going to this event from this community besides NSXR2?

Route looks very reasonable and local. I may be able to go; not sure yet. I didn't see anything about preregistration so I assume it is done on the spot on Sunday AM. Looks like a Bear Mountain loop would be possible after the event as well. If I can go that's what I would do.

Regards,

Tytus

Yes registration is done on the spot. Hope to see some of you there!

Weather looks great for tomorrow! Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow morning.

Reminder:

Meet time: 8:30
Bring your filled out waivers! You can print them off our website.

Joey, you should get philanthropist of the NSX Prime award. You have 18 posts here since you've joined and all of them are to promote charitable runs. I don't think that you've ever contributed to anything NSX. All you've done is ask us to join in your charitable pursuits. Time to give something to this site, don't you think?

I think you need to start looking past your little self-centered NSX world. I might not own an NSX, i might not post here much, but i am doing something good for the community. You on the other hand sit here and hassle people for trying to do good in this world? Im not bothering anyone, heck i bet a majority of the people here are all for what i am doing.

Why didn't you post in the K.O.P thread about their low post count and their low contribution to the NSX community? Seems only fair?

If you dont like our cause then don't open the thread. There is no reason for your immature comments.

I hope your happy now, I just made a post trying to better the NSX community.

First of all jerk ***, This is a NSX community, and when you come on here it's because of your "love" for the NSX, whether you own one or not. Next, what are you doing "good for the community", we all have "causes" that we support, and many of us even contribute monetarily to NSX Prime too. You're not a "paid advertiser", nor a contributor in any sense of the word. You've got 2 events that you're trying to encourage us to participate in, and all that I'm suggesting is that you do more than come on here 2x a year to promote an event. I open the NE Threads because I live here, drive my NSX here, and attend many of the NSX events, as well as many others. I also participate in and on many other forums, and attend many charitable events, and contribute to them directly in addition to attending. So, get off your "high horse" and shut your trap, attend some NSX events (charitable and otherwise), get to know some of the "participants", then try to get in our pockets, until then, cease and desist.

Well lets see, organizing and donating 2k for the Make-A-Wish Foundation in June.... I believe that gives very sick children a chance to make there dreams come true. $1500+ for the ACS to research and fight cancer. $1500+ to a family who lost their father... Jee ya know i dont see how im helping the community at all.

Maybe i should glue myself to my computer and cause internet drama all day. Its such a better gift to the community to patrol post counts and forum usage.

Seriously what are you trying to accomplish? If you have such a problem with it then dont come into the thread. Its as simple as that and im sure nobody wants to hear your mouth either. Maybe nobody new wants to come out to the NSX events because of people like you. Your casting a very poor shadow over some of the great people here on NSX prime. :frown:

Don't respond with your immature comments... i wont get them for a few months anyway, remember?

Anyway ....

I just wanted to take the time to personally Mike and Joe from the NSX board. We would not have been able to do it without your kind donations. Together we raised over $1500 for the Mitchener family. It was a great turnout of 40+ plus cars of all different makes and models. It was nice seeing both new and familiar faces. I hope that you all had a good time, we look forward to seeing you at our next rally next spring!

If you have a chance please take the time to visit our forum at www.royalflushrallies.com. We would love to hear your feedback on the rally. You can also post your pictures and videos on the forum or email them to our account at [email protected].

Here is a link to some of the pictures i snapped today.

See you all in the spring!
You need help, maybe there's an organization that you can join for Jerks that frequent Forums where they never contribute, just take!!!

Guys take it easy. You both have great points and both very strong willed, but this is going a bit much. The event was an awesome time, and an awesome cause, and its a good thing to have every community, including the nsx community, show some support.

RPM217's inital post about the philanthropist award i thought was a little offkey but entertaining, and Joey C., you work really hard at what you've been doing with all your charitable runs, don't be so sensitive, we appreciate everything you've been doing and will keep on doing.

I've contributed personally to this board, and will now also continue to do so on joey's behalf. One of the things I always admired about the NSX community is how versatile and forward thinking we are as a group. We're not like alot of the other car enthusiaists out there and I dont want the wrong message getting across here that were just a bunch of numbskulls.

We're simply a bunch of numbskulls with prettier cars =)

Can we all get along now =)

-Joey

P.S. Tytus Holds top speed record for the day, I heard rumors of 436 mph... and that was in 2nd gear while he was rubbing more spice on his chili style ribs, which was before his majestic mountain bike ride down bear mountain with the wind sails set on his shoulders

Joe,

I share your sentiments. I must say that the group of people that I met this Sunday on this Poker Run were first class. My congratulations to the organisers on a very well run event. I had a great time and the highlight was actually meeting you Joe, your soon to be fiance and Sami. Sami, thanks again and I owe you one.

I appreciate that this event was posted on this board as I would have not known about it and would not have had the opportunity to meet all these nice people. There was a sense of comeraderie amongst the group no matter what car you drove. Joe and I were happy to show our cars parked and in motion and educate those less familiar in the ways of the NSX. We got comments like , "this is my favorite car of all time" to, "I didn't know they were actually that fast". (Straight line and in corners)

It was nice to see some great and not so common Audis, like an RS6S and all types of S4s, BMWs, AMGs, Vetts, etc. This was a gathering based on enthusiasm and support for a cause; which is very nice.

I know the pain, as many of you may know as well, of having lost someone close to an untimely death and this helped me deal and reflect for the day on my own loss. It was all good.

BTW Patricio showed up late, again, at the restaurant and created his own bit of a stir as people exclaimed, "Hey there is another NSX, where did he come from?" and a lot of pictures were being taken of his car, more greetings and warm exchanges. The three of us were embasadors of the NSX community as other's were of theirs and we built bridges together; again, all good stuff.

I will post some pics later.

Thanks everyone,

Tytus

Here are some pics...there would have been more but my battery ran out by the second stop, oh well. Joe, your red car looks great; he is now ripping up the interior and dash getting ready for more Alcantra. Nice work.

Tytus
