Hi all,

We have had 3 "NSX and friends" track events at the Streets of Willow track. For the last couple of years, I've been trying to book the big willow track with no luck. It is named "The fastest track of the west". 2.5 miles with only 9 turns.

With only 9 turns, this track is easy to learn but not easy to keep up with the big boys. Especially turn 8 can reach 100+mph:eek: .... not me:redface: . This track is a blast to drive.

Here is the deal. Patrick (the black STi dude), the person that helped me organize the NSX track events managed to book the big track on Thursday March 27th. I followed his style to run my events. So you can be sure that it'll be low traffic, safe and lots of track time. The weather should be just about perfect then.

I'll forward the details as soon as I have them. I just need a show of hands if you are interested. I may end up canceling my Feb 15 Streets of Willow event since they are just a little over a month apart. This is what I know.

Location: Willow Springs Raceway
Track: Big Willow
Date: 3/27/08 (Thursday)
Run groups: 3
Max cars per group: 15
Cost: ?

Info subject to change. I'm still trying to talk him into 2 x 23 car run groups to further increase track time. Stay tune!!!!

HI all,

I got more information from Patrick Smith. So far, I got well over 10 people expressed interest in this event. There has been a slight change on the date. Please note that now it is on Thur (3/27).

Patrick handles registration a little different from mine. If you are interested, please send him a email and he'll send you the signup packet.

Regarding tech inspection, he'd actually do it at the day of the event. Hope to see all of you there.

That's a fun track. I used to run it when I lived in Southern California. If you guys down there have an opportunity to go, do yourself a favor and go.

Have fun.

Hey Chris

i shot an email to Patrick.

you going?

regards

Rob

That's the plan. I have been wanting to book the big track for the longest time. I'm just glad that Patrick was able to book the track. It is an easy track to memorize, but you have to learn to control the speed to stay on the track.

I have put together a track driving 101 paper. One of the important thing to remember is slow in, fast out. If anyone is interested, I'll be happy to share the paper with you.

I will be there, but I am the pitcrew for a friend in a 99 civic. Can't take my car yet:mad: Due to crappy wheels/tires and a few stripped engine mount bolts. I'm jealous though...I ridden that track numerous times on my motorcycle, but never in a car!

Next time, I guess. Anyways, looking forward to meeting others on this site!

Hey Chris will there be another convoy to this event?

That's what I'll try. Even if it is just the 2 of us, we can still caravan up together. Of course there will be more people from the OC heading out. I'd have to get that list from Patrick when it gets closer to the track day and inform them about our caravan.

Hey guys,

Patrick needs to pay for the track rental fee just about now. If you are serious about attending, please send in your payment. Not sure how many payments he's received so far, but your support is appreciated so that people like Patrick and I can continue to bring these exclusive track events for all the enjoy their cars.

This Thursday's weather is just about perfect for a track day. The following page is full of egg yokes.

Rosamond Weather

Eric, looks like it is just the 2 of us from OC this Thursday. Let's meet at 5:30 at the Irvine Starbucks off Culver and Walnut. Ping me if you need direction.

Ryan R., if you are reading this, we could try to meet up off 5 and 605.

Bruce R, I forgot where you live. If you are anywhere off the 5 freeway, please let me know if you'd like to caravan with us.
