I've been going to this Northridge meet lately and I'm the only NSX there. There are around 150 to 200 cars that show up every Thursday night starting at 9pm. It is at the corner of Corbin and Plummer in the K-Mart parking lot. Last week the police kicked everyone out, so we all moved over to Balboa and Devonshire. It was crazy. I get a lot of attention from the other people and it would be cool if there was a big NSX showing.

rice rice

ill see what i can do this week. I gota knock out that evo engine swap/head work by friday

Steve,

I always see the cars on my way back to work. If I've known that you were there, I would have dropped by even only for half an hour.
Is it going to be at the Ralph's parking lot this week at Devonshire/Balboa?

There is also a car meet at the same K-mart on Friday nights but mostly
American classic and muscle cars. Do you ever go to that one with your car?

Simon, Gene, Rob, and a few others are close to there so it shouldn't be a problem.

It is at Corbin and Plummer unless we get kicked out. If we move to Balboa and Devonshire, it is on the North-West corner (diagonal from Ralph's).

I did not know about that one... I will definately go to that this Friday. Thanks for the heads up. I just love the '60s chevy's.

It was a good meet last night... about 100-150 cars/trucks were there. Perry (CKS Papa) showed up with one of the nicest examples of a low mileage, mostly stock, 1991 black NSXs I've ever seen. (Important note: He promised to give me first dibs when he decides to sell. ) The cops were there cruising the parking lot, but didn't kick us out. However, they did get a person that was racing into the driveway into parking lot... everyone applauded that.

At around 11pm, everyone went to another gathering at Devonshire and Balboa... which turned out to be a lousy place for an exotic (or any other car/pedestrian for that matter) as a few people (can I say "idiots") were doing extended burn-outs, donuts, and even drifting right in the parking lot amongst the parked cars and people. As we entered the parking lot, one of my friends with a really nice 240SX was nearly hit by an out-of-control drifter... he was only 2 cars ahead of me. We parked a few rows away from where they were misbehaving. The cops finally showed up and kicked everyone out.

It was by far the worst example of a car gathering that I have ever seen and I will not attend a gathering of that sort again. Hopefully, we can correct that behavior for the sake of everyone else.

Steve,

You will have to be choosey and careful which meets you attend. I used to check out meets here and there. You will learn on which ones to go and which ones not to attend.

From my experiences Crystal Cove (Before that was shut down), NSX, S2000, and Acurazine meets have been probably the best meets to attend without any problems. I have attended the mixed car meets as well and the crowd is typically a lot younger and clickey.

So when you go to one of those mixed meet, you are gambling to see if its going to be a good meet. Or one like with your buddy almost being hit by a parking lot drifter!

Thats just my opinion based on meets that I have been to.

Steve,
Nice seeing you again.
My car does show it's age next to your car!
It was fun. I did stay longer that I should have but
all is good. Too bad about the incidents at the other site.
Maybe I'll see you next week.

how far are you guys from camarillo? i might come meet up with you guys to because most of the meets i wanna go to are soo far from me.

I don't know about that, Perry... you're car was looking pretty darn good. Exterior is excellent, interior is excellent, engine bay looks clean... the only thing I saw was the Hatch Struts needed replacement (see here).

There are a couple of meets out here, this Northridge meet (at Corbin and Plummer every Thursday) is a mixed meet with a lot of cars. Then there's the Valencia meet (at McBean Parkway & Valencia Blvd every other Wednesday.) It's small and intimate and very friendly. Several people from the Camarillo area show up to the Valencia meet. Next one is April 11th. Watch the threads... Simon (Simons2k) always posts a new thread for it. So, come out.

lol i love the meet at deven and balboa.

its a mix of rice and stubid. use to go to those all the time. a lot of talk, not a lot of racing.
