This one I can not figure so I hope one of have come accros this problem. With the radio playing AM/FM all speakers work great. With the cd going the volume on one side (R) is very weak. I replaced the amp on this side thinking it was the typical Bose thing. I do have a smartenna also. Dan

Just for grins, try disconnecting the Smartenna - the signal passes through that to detect the audio from the changer to disable the antenna - there just might be something going on with that unit & it will be really simple to eliminate it form the equation.
Otherwise, since the head appears to be OK for radio, possibly the changer unit has a problem - the simplest troubleshooting technique would be to see if one of the local members will do a quick switch to see if the problem is in the changer or elsewhere.
If its not the changer, it could be a broken wire in the cable between changer & head; lastly (& probably least likely) there could still be a problem with the head unit switching both channels w/in the unit.
Good luck!
