noise when starting

Hey guys, as you can tell from my previous post I am having a few problems with my car. Recently, my car began making a "grinding" noise when attempting to start the car. This noise seems to occur about every 10 cranks. After numerous tries, (6-7) the car cranks right up and is fine until the next episode.I installed a starter from a 94 with 27k (thinking my starter could be bad, 91 68k) and it is not seeming to help the problem. Could it be something in the starter bendix? Or possibly a bad spot on the flywheel? Just wondering if you guys had any experience with this or could offer any advice. Thanks.

Jason,
I've never heard of an NSX doing that before. My guess would be that you have a bad spot on your flywheel and every once in awhile the starter ends up engaging right on that spot. I'm not sure if the NSX carries an inspection hole that you could get a visual to confirm this w/o having to pull the tranny. Good luck getting her fit again.

I am familiar with the ABS noise, this is defintely not that. Thanks for the info.
