I just discovered this application after getting regularly irritated with increasing web popups during browsing...

Just thought I would share it with everyone who shares my hate for the popup...

No interest in the company otherwise, just a cool utility, and easy to disable if you are clicking on java or webmail services that use popups you actually want to see...

The name of the company sounds scary, but I have been using it for a month or so and it has really taken the pain of cruising the web

Awesome. Just what the doctor ordered. =) I've been looking for something like this for awhile!

Try Mozilla. It's the browser Netscape 7 is based on. But Netscape decided to remove the popup-blocking feature for some reason. (I imagine the popup ads on netscape.com had something to do with it...)

To block pop-ups:

Preferences -> Advanced -> Scripts & Plugins -> "Open unrequested windows" (uncheck)

Sometime you cannot use Mozilla (for example in big corporations were they install Explorer by default) . In that case Pop-Up stopper is the way to go. It is also easier to deactivate, without going in some sub-menu (you need from time to time to have pop-up that contains info you are looking for).

True. In my company, you can't install anything outside what's considered standard software. So, if they can't install Mozilla, they can't install the pop-up blocker.

I install it anyway. Works much better and faster IMO.
