Nick675 crash's at Summit Main Turn 4

I think Wahoo5 and I both had fun.... That is until I wrecked.

I crashed right after turn 4 on Summit Main.

What happened: Stock NSX encountered snap-oversteer and corrected just a tad too late.
Cause: missed the apex by late turn in and came in too hot.
Result: hit tire wall and flew on top of it. damage is surprisingly minimal.

Here is the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjtHhSjhjFQ I have more video to upload from other 3 sessions before I wrecked that was pretty good. The thing that sucks is the instructor was going to sign me off to advanced to the next group before I made the mistake.

Here is the after pics. I check the frame rails and the suspension pretty closely before attempting to drive home. I was astonished that the damages weren't worse.

Glad everything isn't worse... still sucks though.

It's good you posted the video since everyone can learn like myself. I mean it looks just like you were making that right and all the sudden the car started to slide and you reacted the best you could have.

Wow... But for the fact that I scheduled my medical procedures for Friday, I had planned on coming out for this...

I'm sorry to learn of your wreck Nick. That stinks.

It does cause me to lean back toward getting a Miata to track so I can't go so fast and it would be far less strain on the wallet if I were to put the NSX in the wall...

I think my risk tolerance is going down as my responsibilities are going up. 37, married, 2 kids, partner in a law firm. Too much to lose.....

Thanks.

I am just thankful I removed the complete SRS. It would have sucked to have the airbags deploy.

I'll start disassembling the NSX this coming weekend to do a full inspection and take measurements to see how much I bent.

Nick, sorry to hear about the crash. That just sucks. I hope the frame damage is minor and that the car is back again quickly.

Tim at Ray Laks Acura has been supplying parts for me- he's been great to work with and provides a good discount. He'll ship parts as soon as they come in- so you sometimes get multiple deliveries.
