Nice Hotel recommendations in Santa Barbara

Place to stay.

I lived in Montecito (Santa Barbara) for 15 years before recently moving to the Tustin Hills area. If you want a somewhat secluded area within easy walking distance to the beach (100 feet) then stay a the Four Seasons Biltmore in Montecito. It is or should be a historical landmark totally romantic. The beach is very nice and not very crowded even on weekends. We walked around that area almost everyday, as well as road our bikes around. It is definitely upper class, a bit expensive but worth it, and totally beautiful. You can walk easily to Coast Village Road and see a lot of upper end shops. Not the normal tourist haunt. Great restaurants within easy walking from a stylish steak house to home grown Italian to great fish. From there you can drive along Cabrillo Blvd and pass by East Beach and end up at the State Steet Pier.

Anyway that is my two cents;)

while in santa barbara county, you should come up north about 40 miles from downtown and see Solvang. its a very neat Danish looking community.
