What next mod for my '92 NSX ? Except the driver or motor because I don't want to make an endless quest of power.

So far I have :

- bolted steel roll cage
- weight saving : headlights, bumper beams, wipers, clima, blower, ventilation, all plastics and carpets, airbags, steering wheel,...
- Sparco Corsa buckets
- Oreca steering wheel with SoS hub
- home made polycarbonate side windows
- home made polycarbonate dividing window
- FN01R-C 5 Zigen Wheels, 17 x 8 ET40 front, 17 x 9 ET45 (-15mm spacers)
- Tein Flex coilovers
- front camber bushings
- front non-compliance clamps
- rear non-compliance toe links and beam bushings
- Dali track sways
- Type R chassis bars
- brake pads (Carbotech XP10/XP8)
- brake lines
- brake air deflectors
- Type R rear wing
- Shine GT lip
- 230/610/17, 260/640/17 A005 slick tires
- home made front undertray

1) Big Brake Kit
I never felt that I had not enough braking power with the "stock" brakes, nor fading. Perhaps I can gain on high speed brakings with the BBK. But not that easy to use the full potential.

2) KW Clubsport
Tein Flex are not the best for sure and there is a gain here. But the cars feels good and not scary/hazardous at all.

3) Taitec JGTC rear diffuser
Love it for the look but I also think there is a gain here. But is it easy to use this potential gain ?

4) OS Giken with 4.62:1 final drive
As I said, the car feels good. I can hammer gas at the end of the turn and have no scary oversteer. The tires slip but the car go straight. Will it be even better with the OS Giken ? What should I go for ? 1-, 2- or 1.5-way ?

Now what interests me is the 4.62:1 final drive. I see no track around here where I will go over 160 mph. I could go with the 4.23:1 on the stock diff but except changing gears more often, I do not think it will really change something. Between the 4.44 and the 4.62 on the OS Giken, I think the 4.62 gives me far enough top speed.

OS Giken ? BBK ? KW ? Diffuser ?

with a good track pad, you have all the brakes you could need. the thing is you go through rotors and pads quicker, you will change your brakes less constantly with a big brake kit. the downside is higher cost and less availability when it comes time to change them. in the long run, brake temps will be lower, so there will be less wear on the wheel bearings, wheels, etc.

coilovers you have are good enough, it all comes down to set-up and driver anyways.

rear diffusor is an aerodynamic mod. i have a hard time believing it will do more than a big wing on the back. cant imagine it would hurt anything though. yes, i would recommend a big adjustable wing. the gain would be more rear downforce and more traction, which is very easy to utilize.

final drive is nice, but that also affects your gears... say you are comfortably in 2nd gear in lower speed turns and 3rd gear in higher speed turns, this lower fd may force you to shift into 3rd or 4th, respectively. extra shift may make you lose more time than it is worth... think about this.

you need a better suspension for track ,target spring rates 1000/600 with quality dampers dual adjustment expected..then a proper bbk.You only need a front bbk and proper pad mixing front to rear. The rear pads will be dealing with alot of heat at the track because there is less cooling back there.

I am shure that everyone of these mods will give a gain. But which one will give the most noticeable ? I would say diff + short gears. What do you think ?

susp and brakes, more than the diff and gears.

Ive got all the options that you listed except the final drive, gears and LSD. they all made a difference but I think the biggest difference would be the gears ETC. Especially if you drive short mid speed tracks.

Hi,

1. SUSPENSION
I used to have Tein flex, and now switched to K&W V3. The diffenece is HUGE in my oppinion. On a 2min track I gained about 1.5 sec only because of the suspension (also have the NSX-R bars and SOS sway bars)

2. BBK
I do have OEM calippers with stok size Stoptech Aero 2 piece rotors front and powerslot OEM size at the back combined with Carbotech XP10&XP8 pads front/rear. I have never felt that I do not have enough stopping power, however I have driven my frinds car on the same track equipped with Stoptech BBK. It felts much more confident, but the stopping power was not really noticable. I only have cracking problems with the OEM size rotors due to the fact that they can not handle the HUGE temperature loading. Beside this I never had fading problem runing with slicks (230/610 R17 & 280/650 R18)

3. LSD
I have the OEM LSD in the car and with slick tires I have tracktion problems at corner exits. Here is a wideo where you can hear that (@4:45 for example).

As you wrote, the car is still ok at corner exit, but I leave a hell lot of time at corner exit accelerating on the track. I had the chance to drive my friend car equipped with OS Gikken 1.5 LSD. You can accelerate much much earlier with slicks and the car turns out from the corner, much better. This will be my next mods what I will install for sure!

For sure the best gain would be changing what is between the steering wheel and the seat  I already have rollcage, Sparco buckets, harnesses, Hans, ...
