I just bought a house in Henderson Nevada. It serves as a vacation home. I pretty much will be there 50% of the time, the rest of the time I will be in So Cal.

For my next car, should I buy it in Nevada and register it there? Any thoughts? Opinions?

I would register both of them there if it save $$$$'s.
What state gives you the better insurance rate?
What state will you have a drivers license in?
Unless vegas has changed, it is much cheaper than Cali on car registration and insurance.
Just my .02

This should be easy. No matter which state you buy it, register it in Nevada. Damn CA car tax hasn't been lifted yet. Come on Arnold! Get on with it already!

If I buy it in CA, can I have the dealer help me register it in Nevada? I have a good relationship with my local dealer in So Cal, and can probably get a cheaper price from them.

I don't think dealers do interstate registrations. It's up to the owner to go to the DMV of their respective state and register it personally. Considering it's an out of state vehicle, DMV requires the proper visual inspection. At least, they do that here in CA if you bring in a car from somewhere else.

I would think both DMV fees and insurance would be cheaper with a Henderson zip code, IMO
