@##@*!!! now i need a new window regulator. anyone recently had any luck convincing a dealer to goodwill this problem??? i noticed in my search that some have done so in the past. (91 nsx)

also, does EVERYONE'S break on the 91-93s??? mine went out, drivers side, at 19,962 miles.

any advice would be appreciated.

Shame on you, huckster! That's the most well-known, and easily/inexpensively preventable, problem on the '91-92 NSX. Why didn't you spend the $15 on the Dali Racing window fix-it thingies before the window went, instead of $350 on a new regulator?

I haven't heard of any dealer goodwilling these in years. Unlike the snap ring problem, which was often goodwilled for a few years after the warranty expired, the window regulator was rarely goodwilled even back then.

Just go buy yourself a new window regulator, and kick yourself for not doing the fix-it. And buy the fix-it thingie for the other side so you don't have to buy a second one!

Mine didn't - but I had the fix-it thingies put in. I have been told by an informed source that if the regulator on a '91-92 has never been replaced and the thingies haven't been installed, it will probably fail, sooner or later.

I'm sure this has been answered in another thread... Forum Nazi stay away!!!

But how are 93+ affected by this problem? Are they also subject to likelihood of breakdown? I have a 93 with 68k miles. I roll the windows down practically everytime I drive so it's pretty often.

I believe Acura replaced the plastic part (the one that fails) with a metal one very similar to the window fixit thingies for the '93+ model years.

The Technical Service Bulletin on this, number 93-004, claims that it applies to all '91-93 NSX. It was issued March 9, 1993. One would think that any '93 built after that point ought to be immune to this, but I admit I'm just guessing.

If I had a '93, I think I'd buy a set of the fix-it thingies and go install them, just to be on the safe side. If it turns out you have the revised regulator or the thingies have already been installed, there's no harm done, and you've avoided a serious problem.

We had some great photos in a topic here that showed the faulty design, the revised design, and the fix-it thingie version. Where's that Forums Nazi guy to point us to them?

The new regulators (as shown above) have the redesigned full-metal-jacket around the plastic part.

There's no need for the Dali "thingies" on cars that have new regulators.
