Hey all-

I just got through installing my new gunmetal 18X8/18X10 Volk GT-C wheels on my car. I thought I'd take some pics to see what other folks think of the new look. Myself......I'm torn right now because I thought my old Konigs looked awesome and the centers of the GTCs look darker than I thought they'd be.

On the plus side, these are some damn mean looking wheels when seen in person. I wonder......should I have gotten these with the silver face instead of the gunmetal, though?

Anyway, I figured I'd ask and see what other folks think of them here on Prime.

Looks great, now you just need to offset by getting some contrast in the brake work. GT-C really show/expose a lot of the brake components/suspension so I put something flashy behind those dark wheels. My opinion only.

It all depends on what kind of look you're after. If you're after the racey but stylish look, gun metal is nice. Silver is a bit plain imo. Polished would be nice, but pimpy.

I think the color of your wheels are perfect on a black car, although GT-C is not my cup of tea. Another choice would be the GT-7's.

Viper Driver: looks like you resized those pictures in Paint. Too many jaggard lines. :(

but putting image quality issues aside, those rims look BADDDDD... looks like you've even FuryNSX's approval of BADNESS. :D I like photo 3 in particular

I think those wheels look great regardless of finish. The gunmetal makes them look more like a track car IMO.. They sure fill the wheelwells nicely. What are the weights of the GT-C's?

Hmm......I agree. I wish that I had five grand sitting around to get Brembos! For now, my red-painted calipers and Powerslot rotors will have to do. :(

Polished is definitely pimpy, especially on a black car. Silver may be plain, but I think the simple look sometimes accentuates the lines of the car better. Complicated wheels draw too much attention to themselves sometimes, and work good on ugly cars that need "makeup" to look decent. The NSX is like a female model with beautiful skin.......she doesn't need makeup to look good, and can look downright trashy if there's too much. My Konigs were "simple," and they weren't nearly as visually "busy" as the Volks are.

Yeah, I know. (sigh) I used to be a graphic designer before my new career, and I really am embarrassed to use the cheap stuff to post my photos. Unfortunately, (1) I just upgraded to XP and Photoshop doesn't work anymore, and (2) I don't use an image host (and I'm in the '90's still with dialup access) so NSXPrime's file size limit is keeping me from posting something of better quality.

What are the weights of the GT-C's?

I really don't know. I've been told that Volks are light in general, but I got these used and they had tires on them already. Personally, I use my OEM wheels for on the track, so I'm not really concerned with weights too much for my street setup. Blingin' and acceleration don't go hand-in-hand too often. But, if you find out the weights of these the please post them here! Maybe Tantheman knows the answer to this, since he has the same wheels that I do (except they are in 17/18 instead of 18/18.)

Thanks for all of the compliments! I've had several comments out on the streets in the last two days that were all positive as well.

I love it!! I would stay with them!!

I think they look nice. Personally, I like simple silver 5 spokes. But your wheel color reminds me of the Porsche Fuchs which look mean and handsome. Do you happen to have a picture of your lowered car with the Konig wheels you can post for comparison?

What size front tires are you using? What's the front wheel offset?

The fronts are 215/35/18. I don't know what the offsets are. I bought them used from Ravetek (NSXSC.com) and he might know your answer. They don't rub, except when under full lock turning one direction.

Here you go. They are on this thread (I can't figure out how to cross-post pictures I've attached over there.)
