I recently got a new set of wheels. Unfortunately, the manufacture doesn't make them in 17 inch, so I went with 18x8 in front (45mm offset with 5mm spacer) and 18x9 in rear. Front tires are 225/40/18 and rear tires are 265/35/18. I placed the fronts first and test drove the car and the TCS light would come on (intermittent - Car hits the brakes as I accelerate so I have to turn it off). Is it because the front wheel is 18 and not 17? or is it because of the tire size?

The tire size for the front should be 215/35R18 with your current 265/35R18 rear. The 225/40 for the front is too large.

question is who told you to use a 40 series tire on an 18 inch wheel?
