New valve actuation technology

renault was rumored to have this technology for its Formula One engines last year, but that turned out to not be the case. in fact, they couldn't get the 111-degree Vee to work, either, not stiff enough to carry structural loads.

anyway, the concept of EM valve actuation is not new, but i don't know that anyone, F1 or otherwise, has been able to make it work reliably.
