OK, now this is ugly, there is no way someone would love to look at something this ugly.

BMW, really missed the mark with the design of this new car. BMW is losing it, their cars are not leagues ahead of their competition in driving dynamics anymore. Most of their cars are ugly. And they have not managed to improve any of their cars in an impressive breathtaking way like they once used to.

BMW is going down.

Oh, yeah, here is the link:

but what's the betting that it will still be a HUUUUGE seller

I don't now, The 5- Series seems to have not done so well, (at least not where I live)

there is a side effect to ugly products even if they are good cars

Here's how BMW did in North America last year (I'm not sure whether this is U.S. only or also includes Canada; the US in parentheses next to some models refers to country of manufacture, not sale):

I don’t mean to sound like a nagger, but what we really need to see, are sales figures before and after the Bangle Revolution, to make a real contrast of what BMW was and what BMW is becoming.

I dunno....but, I dig the new 6-series....

I like both the 6 series and (yeah I know I'm a minority) the 7 series

the rest I'm not too sure of

As everyone knows, I am one of the ONLY supporters of Bangle on Prime I still feel that he is doing just fine. Merc on the otherhand is losing. They (MB) is doing exactly what you wish BMW would have done. They are staying with the status quo, and are selling worse than the Dodge Neon. Audi and BMW are staying a step ahead of the game. Now BMW needs to up their recent reliability issues. I still believe that the E36 era was looking too much like a 92 civic. With BMW being a high-level car company, they needed an upscale change. Chris brought some originality to the 4 door upscale class.
I am anxious to see the M4!

Just paid my BMWCCA dues for 2005!

I love the bangle design theme too, but he seems to be screwing up lately, the 5-series was OK but then he came up with the 1- series, X3, and finally the 3-series all look a little bit lost in design. there is no harmony what so ever. They need to a little better job than that.

If you look at the sales chart, you can see the difference in the E39 (old) and E60 (new) 5 series. Looks like the 5 series is healthy. Personally, I like the new 5 and 3 series, but neither is as good looking as the outgoing 5 series.

I guess I missed that one

thanks for the note

I'll wait and see what happens to the 3-series, especially with the compatition catching on

All the new BMW designs are ugly. Call it bold, maybe innovative, but bottom line is they are ugly. The only BMW that has decent lines/looks is the 5 series. Everything else just looks UGLY! Fire Bangle!

I also agree with the reliability issues. They need to fix this.

I keep hearing about these reliability issues

are they mechanical, or electronic?

I agree. I thought I read that they had already moved Bangle off any new designs? Heck, the feedback was so bad on the 7-series that they had to prematurely release an interim redesign. In addition to fugly design, people couldn't stop complaining about the bugs in their iDrive system (although I hear it's better in the new 5 series?). A friend of mine ended his lease early on the 745 because the darn thing shut down completely out of the blue a few times and had to be flatbedded. Ugh. (I did like those butt-massaging seats though hehe).

I completely disagree that Merc are keeping the status quo, I have a S600 that eats Vipers for lunch with a simple computer reprogram. I have owned various BMW's and I can say that this car is head and shoulders above anything that BMW is offering including the new M5.

All that and they look like they were Bangled!
