new toy goes nicely with nsx

Just got my Sony in the mail. *sniffle* brings a tear to my eye....


it's the 70" widescreen LCD rear projection HDTV. As the boys in the hood would say, "It's the shizzle!"

Any recs regarding a better DVD player? mine is 5 years old right now, i know there are some "Progressive" scan dvd players, but that's about all i know right now...

Progressive scan players have come down significantly in price and barely command a premium. Since you have such a kick-ass TV, if it supports HDMI, you may want to consider a DVD player with HDMI which will keep the entire stream digital (as opposed to analog Component/YPrPb).

I would stay away from the Toshiba SD-5970 -- I've heard lots of bad things about it. Most people like the Panasonic S97S, but it's hard to find. If you're not as budget conscious, you may want to consider something higher end such as a Yamaha S2500 which comes with a Faroudja DCDi processor built-in and other goodies.

BTW, I have some pics that I took from CES of the 102" Plasma that Samsung was showcasing!

By the way, how does it go with the NSX? At first I read 7" LCD, so I thought you were installing a Nav display in your NSX.
