I have not seen or tested this unit but I'm familiar with this company's products. This appears to be Escort's high end unit (sold under the name 8500 and others) that has been repackaged for remote mounting with the addition of an LED-based laser defeating system.
We know the Escort units are inferior to the Valentine 1 in features such as angle of view and length of warning before a radar encounter. Advantage Valentine 1.
We also know the best lidar defeating system on the market is the Lidatek Laser Echo. For my money I would buy a Valentine 1 for advance warnings of radar and laser signals, and two Lidatek Laser Echos for defence from front and rear laser signals that could not be detected in time. The cost of all this is less than or the same as the Escort remote unit - seems like a win win for everyone but the folks who make Escorts.
The sad thing is that there are a lot of people who will buy this and then brag about how they have the best laser / radar protection in the world... it must be because it cost them $1500. (Excuse me... $1499).
