Brand?

There is an English company that makes quick release hubs that retain the horm function. Oddly, they sell them as an anti-theft device. Kind of like car stereos with removable face plates, I guess.

I have also seen photos of the Advance flip-up hub and it looks like a better solution. Hard to tell without seeing it in person, however.

I like my DaliRacing Toys.
The F52 aeroplan-aluminium steering hub is ultralight.
I cant understand why people buy the old MOMO version...this one is much lighter and with a mousetrap for add wiring.
And.... the NSX-R who race the 24h Nürburgring will have with this hub inside too. (More pictures soon)

wow,

that is pretty cool looking. Similar with what I have in my car. Kenji MR also have the same as mine, mayb eI'll take a picture this weekend.

David,
the snap-off (British company) quick release suck. Their product is not really good quality wise. The cool thing however, it is really an anti theft device. The unit is unique for each one of them.

The quick release material is hardened steel...in finest quality.
Most of the european race cars uses that part. Here's a picture from LM GT NSX.

Bigger and better picture is: http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid49/p6f024a6f447c94ceff30aaf7b46ad029/fcb6eb1d.jpg.orig.jpg

The horn button (red or black)is NSX-R.
Price....I forgot, you must ask again.
Both (also the quick release)I got from DaliRacing...its the newest prototype
with wiring inside for horn function without seeing cables.

Hi Andrie
Nice toy too....respect.

I decided to buy the DaliRacing steering hub
(with mousetrap) It allows to let the SRS spindle cable without mods inside. (You must remove nothing, only the OEM steering wheel)
Only thing you have to do is to induct the 2 yellow adapter cables through the hole.

So you can have horn and cruise control function. Wiring isnt so easy... it depends what horn button will be used (one or two pins)and if you are using the system with or without cruise control.

Dali's quick release steering hub I got uses oval connection...advantage is that there is no size tolerance inside and there is no 'leeway'.
Normaly the inside of this quick release is closed.... Now you have to be creative.
If you find the right connector with 4 pins inside you should be able to use all OEM functions. Thats the idea.

Another advantage of the DaliRacing
steering hub: weight is 864 g (1.94 lbs)
The MOMO hub weights 1.030 g (2.32 lbs)

For Ricky Racers exists an ultralight steering hub with 490 g (1.10 lbs)
and the short one for adapt the quick release is 350 g (0,79 lbs)

The NSX-R race car will have this quick release inside too.

Hi Detlef,

the advantage of your setup is definitely to allow SRS spindle cable without mods. My setup won't allow SRS spindle cable. So in order ot have the horn work, you have to make special hookup. I'll show the picture later on what I did.

And the weight is definitely an advantage as well. Mine is pretty heavy.

Hi Andrie,

I like it if NSX people like you is creative.
I think its important to show some ways for NSX people dont have experience with that but wanna install this too.

For me it's not a competiton like:
my parts are better like your's...
NO, only for showing the ways.

The most heard phrase in Germany is:
'My HONDA dealer said, don't do this, its impossible'. Than I will get ambitious.

Your car looks very racy and I think you have a lot of fun.
I hope we helped some people to find another nice toy.
