I currently own a moderately modified Subaru STi. For those interested: Link

I have looked around this site and lurked for a while. Certainly an nice community here. I have been planning on getting a NSX for many years and now have a place to store the car for our Minnesota winters. I have just started to look for cars and would like to know if there is a reference on here that compares the model years and lists benefits/pitfalls of each year? For example, is there a real difference from a drivers perspective between the 5 and 6 speed transmission or the 3.0 and 3.2 liter engine? What are typical mechanical areas of concern for each year, etc. The Subaru STi forum I frequent has this: Link 2. I really tried to find something similar here so please don't flame me for not searching first if I missed it.

My long term goals for the NSX would be to use it as a fun sports car for weekend cruising and occasional HPDE. It will be modded eventually as I seem to be unable to leave anything stock. However, I do not think I could race my future NSX as I would always be too concerned about trashing a car that I plan to keep forever. Any and all information and advice is appreciated.

Not gonna lie. I'm a big fan of the STI.

I agree, I love my STi. It is fast, the AWD system provides great idiot proof traction, it is cheap to modify and maintain, and I can take 3 passengers. However, now I want lightweight, rear wheel drive, mid engine dynamics, one passenger only fun to compliment it.

Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for.
